I don’t buy that Brook was past it. Spence went to his backyard and broke him down. He broke the opposite eye socket as Golovkin so there’s no excuse about a preexisting injury. Brook was rounding out the bottom of pfp lists so that put Spence on. Apart from that he doesn’t have too much. He outclassed Peterson who arguably beat Garcia a couple years earlier, and beat Van Heerdan who is underrated. He specifically is a 6-10 guy because his resume lacks depth, although h2h he’s top 5.
Your point proves the other guys point, not disproves it. Porter lost to Brook, Thurman didn't dare get in the ring with Brook and Spence would a damaged Brook. Crawford has beat Postol.....Who just lost to a prospect. D.Garcia lost to Porter, who lost to Brook. M.Garcia hasn't got a win against an Elite fighter. Wilder has avoided Wlad/Povetkin/Joshua/Parker/Whyte. Charlos/Andrade....See Mikey Garcia. Jacobs is best known for losing to GGG. Tank....See Charlos/Andrade. All of the above are a million miles away from Mike Tyson, let alone Floyd Mayweather.
because guys like me can see how good he is and guys like you rely on guys like me to tell you whats good.
Yeah, but Spence was subpar in the Brook fight because of the magnitude of the fight, he had so much on the line, AND he was fighting in the guy's backyard across the pond, which often times does not bode well for decisions. Spence knew this so the pressure was on him big time to stop Brook.
This **** that is happening to boxing is thanks to promoters and exclusive deals with TV and stream platforms. No one what to fight another because of contracts.
Spence looks the part — huge and hulking welterweight, hard puncher, sound fundamentals, has destroyed dudes. Wants everyone but Bud.
My guess is Spence's win over Brook carries more weight over Porter and his win over Garcia, as well as Thurman and his win over Garcia (And Porter) as well.
