If Spence had fought the pre GGG Brook then I would definitely agree, unfortunately his win came vs a weight drained Brook who came off his first loss and a serious injury. I firmly believe the old Brook would have beaten Spence.
You ha e literally said he is an excellent fighter, u answered ur own question Thread over, close it down there is no point to it He is rated cos he is an excellent fighter like you say.
If Brooke looked shot versus Spence, I might agree. But I don't think he looked shot. I will admit he's past his prime, but he was still a top WW IMO. Guess we'll have to wait a little and see if/when Brooke can rebound some to form.
I believe people like excitement so they normally like and rate any fighter that is scoring stoppage wins. Spence Jr has won by stoppage in his last 11 fights, normally as a fighter goes up in levels the stoppages slow, that hasn't happened with Spence Jr. I know the counter to that argument will be level of opposition but it's still including his last 3 world title fights. Now Thurman on the other hand was really hyped on the way up, he was knocking nearly everybody out and exciting. Thurman has won 4 of his last 5 by decision, the other win was a RTD win against Collazo. Most people were big on Thurman and sort of turned on him as soon as the stoppages started to dry up. I believe stoppage wins give the impression of more dominating Champion, they are also clear cut victories, there are no arguments about decisions like Thurman/Garcia.
Spence's win over Brook is probably one of the best wins besides Canelo's win over GGG on the p4p list. His win over Brook is better than any Loma or Crawford win. But besides that, it is kind of lacking. Blame it on the other WW's who refuse to get in there with him.
Here's why he is so highly rated. The short version is he blacked Floyd's eye and dropped him before the Canelo fight and Floyd kicked him out the gym. True story . Then he dropped Adrien Broner in sparring also, which should not have been hard but this was pre Maidana full hype job Adrien Broner. Because he hurt Floyd he is seen as some type of boxing omnipotent entity. I don't believe it to be so. When it comes to fighter being touted as gods I'm a non believer.
