Why is Sugar Ray Robinson considered the GOAT ?

Greb, SRR, Armstrong, and Langford are probably the Four Pillars. Any of those four choices are acceptable, imo. Maybe throw in Charles, if you're feeling frisky.

Think Mosley strikes me as being a bit closer to Robinson overall, but DLH does have a left hook that's more reminiscent of Robinson. Not dignifying the OP or other comments with a response but I feel there are some interesting ways for us to hijack this thread, and this is one of them.

I suppose I can see that. Mosley was more aggressive in a Robinson like manner, in his younger days especially. For me, it's the jab that tied DLH with Robinson though. Oscar's left-hand was brilliant, but Robinson's was much better IMO. Although the similarity does literally end there, with "they both have awesome left hooks and jabs".

 

Nobody has "dominion" over the sport, this includes the "experts".

ODLH > SRR.

DLH's left hand > Robinson's.

What is greater? Better, definitely.

 

What does matter to the majority however is legacy. H2H is far more subjective and you're the one posting like you decide everything when you don't buddy (LOL)

Awful argument, really. Beating a crude boxer like Fullmer tells us nothing about his ability in modern matchups.

Robinson was great for his time, but his fans go really overboard.
