@PhillyPhan69 put up a thread a while back where people discussed how they scored Floyd-JLC 1, and there were multiple posters on the thread who scored the fight for Floyd.

Yeah, same score. I guess you could make a case for 115-113 JLC, but there were definitely a couple of rounds over the second half that Floyd controlled. When you take into account that Floyd had a strong case for winning the first five (at least imo), that makes a JLC win a little bit of a stretch.

Much more than likely, but we still expect him to prove it!

Obviously no one can and that’s what you get off on- draging arguments in circles saying. “you can’t prove it” in more and more creative ways with no input to actual in the ring discussions.

I assume you're using the royal "we" here, since I doubt most of the forum is demanding Burns be resurrected to fight Vitali for real before picking Vitali in a fantasy fight.

God now I have the mental image of Jan in some seedy wizard tower trying to summon Burns from beyond the grave stirring a big bubbling pot of Old gloves, robes, Ring Mags ect admits a storm- Perhaps a hero is climbing the steps wielding the legendary blade "Reason"? Only time will tell.

    Not exactly.

I presume that we, will not assign a win to either Joshua or Usky, until one of them proves it in the ring next weekend.

We have our opinions on what the outcome will be, but for now they are just that.

The same principle applies to any fantasy fight.

It goes without saying that Boxrec will not record Vitali as having defeated a man he's never fought, and who's been dead for nearly a century, yes.

Okay. So we all agree that Vitali would beat Burns every time, 99% of the time, most likely for sure, unless something impossible happens to Vitali, which does happen occasionally, but not in this lifetime, on this particular version of Earth, but if we flip a nickel into the air and it lands on its edge, then what? In our humble opinions, of course.

He spans the pre-WWII and post-WWII eras and was a violent finisher. Kinda like a Foreman-Wilder blend, who didn't really lose in his prime.

So, not a hype job by any means, but definitely a fan favorite on many levels, as opposed to anything he actually accomplished.

The greatest trainer of all time, Gil Clancy, ranked him second to Pep. With the way Boxing has evolved, to the chagrin of casuals, Pep's style has proven far more effective/influential, justifying Clancy's ranking.

Guys like Greb, Walker, McLarnin, Leonard and Langford have sort of been rediscovered or restored thanks very much to the internet. Very few men alive who owned a t.v. set in the 60's could remember seeing them live.
