I think that Cotto's going to get a very bad back lash for losing to PBF and PBF is going to get no credit for beating a guy that was clearly the guy the public wanted to see him fight.

I can see threads about Cotto not being a good fighter ...

I can see a thread about people knowing that Cotto wasn't on his level and that Floyd isn't fighting anyone ...

Then comes more names and more criticizm on both ends ...

Its not fair -- Cotto obviously doesn't want to fight PBF and is trying to come to terms with being satisfied w/ having his biggest payday and a loss.

Shame on the public for forcing this guy to fight Floyd when its apparent that he doesn't want to.

He's been protected his whole career and due to the chatter of fight commentators and boxing columnist, the judgement of the fighting community has been clouded.

His words after the Gomez fight was that "he wasn't scared of Floyd" ... a fighter that says he's not scared is scared. He chose the wrong words and shouldve said something about how confident he is against any fighter including Mayweather. Any fighter that i've seen never had mentioned scared when asked about another fighter rather saying he's scared or his potential opponent is scared.

I seen that ESPN is jumping on the bandwagon and is further setting people up for a terrible fall.

Floyd is a star ... he's not a guy who just stepped on to the scene ... how did he get here?
By beating the best and fighting the best ... I don't see why he's getting so much criticizm for fighting DLH a second time, any fighter in the fight game and any fight would fight a guy who they knew they could beat for 30m. This guy has paid his dues and should be given a little room to do whatever he chooses from now on.

He's been consistantly doing this for 12 years and hasn't got a chance to chill and live outside of the boxing world.

I agree that I want to see the fight happen, but i'm not going to put everything into because I have a feeling that the aftermath is going to be the same as any other Floyd Mayweather fight.

Trainer and ESPN boxing analyst Teddy Atlas doesn't believe you can take Mayweather out of the welterweight equation.

"Mayweather is there, even though he's an event fighter," Atlas said. "He's not retired. He's not inactive. He's undefeated. He's still at the top of the heap. I don't see how you can't include Mayweather."

Atlas believes that Mayweather and Cotto should fight soon to give boxing fans a competitive match.

"If I was a fan, I'd be little upset with the powers that be for forcing us to see De La Hoya and Mayweather again," Atlas said. "Based on what happened the first time, it feels like you're being used, you're being manipulated. You have a businessman [De La Hoya] who has lost all of his big fights fighting the best guy in the sport. What's going to change from the first time?

"Let's open it up so we can see something different. Let's see something less predictable. Let's see someone else get a chance to play that part against Mayweather."

Atlas doesn't believe that Cotto needs Mayweather because at this point, Cotto is not interested in being "an event fighter."

You picked Gomez to beat Cotto. No one is taking you seriously.

Cotto doesn't need to beata Margarito to deserve a shot at MW !!

Was Hatton's win over Castillo really enough to earn him a shot at Floyd ?

Cotto has proved himself already ..Its time for the 2 best weleter weights in the world to meet ..If your against that than your against great match making !!

Cotto has the best chance of beating Floyd, and I actually favor him by close decision
