Yeah the division is horrible as all hell. I think they should make a SUPER heavyweight division for the biggest fighters and have a weight limit at the heavyweight division so no heavyweights can just come in fat and in any kind of condition, That's the problem and why alot of the heavyweights are fat because there is basically no weight limit and they really dont have to train hard like the other divisions to make weight

I watched the skelton fight with my dad(not a boxing fan) once my dad stopped laughing at the state of these two guys,he fell asleep. that just said it all.

The funny thing was he asked '' is skelton normally this bad? To which i said actually he is normally alot worse. Which is the truth.

It makes no sense to me, Klitschko is ripped for a heavy(of this era), and he dominates. But no one seems to be following that in the division. I'd like to see Haye move up, hopefully he has a chin and some stamina and it can be exciting again to watch the HW's.

I don't think there is any particular reason why its so bad. To say the best HW's are in the NFL is kinda silly, because while they may be talented athletes over 200 pounds, that does not make them boxers. There are always going to be poor periods for any division. Right now, the HW's are at an all time low. But remember the late 80's?

I think its inevitable that a few really good young American HW's are gonna come through eventually. Impossible to say when, but the Beijing Olympic team may shed some answers...

Having lived though the Golden era of the magic 60s- 70's*, over the last couple of years we are having it again. Just watch what your son posts on the Classic area, in a generation.
We are having a lot of good big name fights with an occasional KO up set.
    * saw much of the 50's too. Back up to 56 they had 4 channels and one majored in boxing (that one folded). That was before Football and Basket ball became so big....:yep
The reaon why TV boxing went down was Neilson refused to put his rating boxes in the bars where boxing was watched.
So on fight nights, with the old man out of the house, I love Lucy got rated and the fights not.

That would be a terrible idea. The last thing we need is another opportunity for the alphabets to hand out more belts to undeserving fighters. Plus it would further dilute an already sparce scene. I just hope Klitschko or someone hoovers up all the belts so we at least have an undisputed heavyweight champion. I also hope John Ruiz gets forced to retire so the WBA don't end up calling him a three time champion.:patsch

    :-(

Its sad, I agree with him, I would take the 49 year old Foreman who arguably beat Briggs against all the current HW champs except Wladimir.

It would seem to be pretty poor, and in lots of ways i guess it is,but i do notice the americans on here complain the most, and obviously thats because of there near on domination of the division for a 100 years,so id say for them it must be really hard to see they are complete shite at the moment in time, but things change all the time.

I personaly like the east euros, most of them are good guys, quiet and not shouting there mouths of,the problem is they come across as a bit bland, and apart from wlad no one really stands out any more,im sure it will get better again though.

I don't think the heavies we have today are THAT bad.

It's just that the HWs today for some reason lack real KO power. Outside of Vlad/Brock and Sultans win over Tomato Can Mora, when was the last time one of our current World Champions had a knock out over a ranked contender?

I think most people would overlook the nationality if these guys had some KO power.
