 Apparently most of the guys on this site are very young ! The devision is fine and infact most of the past eras didnt even have any real heavyweights ! Thats why 180 pounders where considered champs !:yep

Just you wait you impatient ****s.

Once the Hayes & Field's enter the division, the Solis's & Dimitrenko's find there feet in the division, not to mention Peter is only 27, Povetkin is coming along nicely & is 28, and the prospect of people like Chad Dawson moving up in three or four years to challenge the rest, it looks like it will be in pretty good health to me.

Chinny gay ****s. In boxing they would have to take that stupid helmet off.

Ballet dancers would make a more serious impact. Very fit superior atheletes with amazing strength and light on feet.

 So you think its worst then when the likes of LEON and BRADDOCK and BURNS and some 80s drug addicts or light heavyweights or FLOYD PATTERSONS had titles ect ect ! Oh and there wont be any grandfathers getting title shots or winning the title either ! If you are going to make a statement like this please learn something about the other eras and quit towing the line !:good

Cant remember the last time i got excited about a heayweight title fight, cant remember the last time we had one that got any attention.

Wlad may be th best right now, but he is the best of a very very very poor bunch. I dont think its because they are easter euros, its because they cannot punch and all fight the same way and dont get people talking. Boring, not wat i want from a heavyweight scene. Lets hope something good comes out of the olympics...

Big talented guys in the US are taking on other sports thats the only reason why ex-Soviets are dominating. With the exception of Wlad, they all just look like regular fat Joes. Besides looking boring they fight boring ....

This is a **** poor excuse. What if I said that the only reason Americans dominated the HW division for so long is that eastern euros weren't allowed to turn pro up until recently?

That's a tired old argument that wasn't true then & it isn't true now.

One big reason is HW's nowadays are lazy and don't get in the best shape they coulpd possibly get in.

That would be a more likely conclusion than most here would like to believe. The 80's were shittier than the current division. Football and Basketball have been around for quite some time so that excuse is lame.

    I don't buy it

Sure heavyweight has seen better days, but it is FAR from the worst division out there

It's true that people **** on it because there aren't enough black guys from the hoods of Brooklyn that talk trash

The personalities aren't great, but there are some very good fighters

IT's an extremely diverse division with some good ol' timers like Tua, Holyfield, Moorer, Briggs, TOS, etc. Some new young contenders like Povetkin, Chambers, Solis, Boystov, Arreola, etc. Some power punchers like Virchis & Peter, some boxers like Gomez, Dimentrenko, Thompson, etc. Some Cruiserweights moving up like Haye & possibly more.

The division was wide open just a few short years ago when Vitali, Ruiz, Byrd & Brewster held the belts. Posters complained that there wasn't one guy who was head & shoulders above the rest. Now we have Wlad trying to unify & some posters say the division is weak just because he has been winning in such dominating fashion. I thought that's what the fans wanted but apparently Wlad isn't American or "thug enough" for their tastes.

I'm sure history will remember these times better than "mediocre" if only for the diversity of the fighters styles & origins. I know I will.
