Is it just me, or is this the quietest boxing has been for years? The fight calendar for this month is awful.
Amatuer Boxing has the limelight for one month of the year, every four years. Let it have its moment mate.
It's because it's AUGUST you are lucky the olympics are on in August boxing is always dead for the most part noob
The first 3 weeks of July saw Wlad, Khan, and Broner fighting. Since then and until the end of August it's pretty dead for fights. The cancellation of Pascal/Cloud definitely hurt. Also idiot promoters putting 2-3 big fights on in one night in September. The Olympics have provided a different kind of boxing entertainment for a few weeks and like SJS said it's only for a month. Summer always kind of sucks for boxing anyway.
For whatever reason August always sucks. Should be a great month though. As far as other sports, Football just getting started, Baseball not in the stretch run yet and no basketball. With that said, Jean Pascal and Tavoris Cloud were supposed to fight tonight. So we would've had that at least. Since we don't, it seems like forever til Ward-Dawson...
