WTF are you talking about ? Golovkin was ready to come to Sturm, Geale, Martinez, Quillin when they were champions. What does "come to him" even mean in Golovkin's case ???

Amy division where one guy dominates is considered weak.
Its why HW was considered weak for the past decade.

a division like SMW where a retired 37-year old's twice spat out leftovers is a top 5 fighter has to be considered a wasteland

MW is full of prospects, GGG will have to clean out a new generation of fighters in Murata, Khytrov, Derevyanchenko and Magomedov along with the current crop of beltholders in Saunders, Jacobs, and Alvarez

all in all, GGG will not be bored sitting on the shelf and fighting once a year

I think current MW division is pretty good based on what it has been last 20 years or maybe even 30 years. It´s definitely better than Hopkins, Taylor, Pavlik and Martinez era. And it´s also very good if you compare it to current JMW or WW divisions.

Top 10 guys have flaws but so does every fighter in every era. Do you think Pavlik, Taylor, Sturm or Abraham were flawless? Not even close to it. Lemieux has major flaws but his power and other qualities will carry him long way (Similar to Pavlik and Abraham case). Same goes to Murray, Saunders, Eubank Jr., Jacobs etc.

If I had to compare I would put Lemieux in to same category as Pavlik and Abraham - Pure knock out -artist bracket with major flaws in defense and skills. They offset their flaws by aggressive style, power, turtle defense or by granite chin.

Taylor belongs to a bracket where fighters have some skills and decent power and might have weak chin. I place Joppy here even though he had decent chin. Jacobs, Quillin and Lee belongs to this group.

Third bracket is for boxers with little power but decent skills - durable guys so to speak. Sturms is groups chairman, Eastman, Winky, Sylvester, Barker and Keith Holmes are vice chairs. I would place Saunders, Geale, N´Dam and Heiland into this group.

Fourth group is for flawless fighters. Who would you place here? Hopkins? Golovkin?

I don´t really know where to place Eubank Jr. He looks pretty powerful but not enough to be considered ko artist. Although he seems to have major weaknesses and good chin. He has similarities to Miranda.

Btw. remember how Pavlik, Abraham and Sturm avoided each other back in the days. So if Canelo, Saunders and Jacobs desides to duck GGG, it´s not surprising at all.

Because no matter how the rest of the pack look/fare, they are distant to GGG

You think Lemieux is on the same level as Abraham/Pavlik?

You think the MW division is better than its ever been in the last 30 years?

When you have fighters in the mix at middleweight which Chavez Jr. has easily beaten, then you know the division isn't very strong.

The reality of it all is that aside from Golovkin, nobody in that division has distinguished themselves apart from the other contenders.

What middleweight out there can you make a case for to beat Golovkin?
Probably only Canelo Alvarez, and he's never fought at 160 lbs.

    Middleweight division=weak

Maybe the problem isn´t reading but understanding context with complex relations. I can give a hint; read the whole message like it would be a one sentence. Context is about flaws and what kind of flaws and styles there has been in MW division. I´m not implying which bracket is better than the other nor I say fighters in same bracket are equally good.

Although I do believe DL has all the tools and time to achieve as much as Pavlik or Abraham. Especially Pavliks resume is very thin; Wins over Rosado and N´Dam equals most of Pavlik wins. Taylor and Miranda are the only W´s that his resume lacks. And DL is still a work in process.

It's not weak, it's just not that great. It's mediocre.

FW, WW, LHW are all strong divisions. Not MW.
