What the hell is it good for if not this fight

Neither of the two is the Ring belt title holder . . . it's vacant . . . so why would it be on the line?

That's one good thing about RING . . . it's not given free based on stature and HYPE . . . somebody has to earn it inside the ring. :deal

Fight will be held at welterweight where neither guy holds the RING magazine championship. Only way a RING magazine champion can be established is if the number 1 fighter in the division is fighting and that happens to be Shane Mosley.

Well, these two guys are clearly the two best in the division, it should at least be an interim belt or something to establish some order. Then the winner takes on Berto/Mosely winner to determine ring belt

If the belt is vacant and they don't make it available for the two best fighters, how and when will they put it on the line?

    Ahhhh

That makes sense even though I don't agree with Shane being #1 over Floyd I don't know how that's possible. I guess with ring you have to beat the #1 guy to take his spot and that might not be a bad thing I suppose.

Well, maybe they're on to something even if people don't really give a **** one way or the other. They just wanna see Pac/Mayweather because everyone knows they're the best two

The winner of Pac/Mayweather is clearly the top welterweight

The fight is for the WBO title that Pac won from Cotto. :deal

They'll put the ring belt at stake when the fight is for lineal recognition . . . just my opinion.

And why doesn't Shane hold the belt? because he didn't beat Floyd?
cuz Floyd had it before he retired right? then why can't he reclaim it? He's still better than Mosely

Ya, I'm just trying to figure out what their system is here
I guess if it was Mayweather/Mosely, the belt would be at stake even though it's not lineal?

Isn't the ring belt awarded by "The Ring" for his over-all performance and not via overnight showing?
