PAC isn't the lineal champ so he can't be the ring belt holder. PAC beat Cotto who was NOT teh Ring champ. He could have been if he beat Marg...>Shane beat Marg....to the WBC strap along with the lineal championship which Ring gives to the lineal champ. PAC or Floyd can earn the shot of the lineal champ depending on who wins.

Well you should! the winner of Berto/Mosely has two belts. Mayweather/Pac winner has one and is clearly NOT the lineal champ, no ****ing way. But the ring belt should be on the lin IMO. The lineal championship occurs when you hold most or all of the alphabet titles

I'm sure they were aware of the rankings but also very much aware that the person who is regarded as the lineal champ is Shane. In order to have the lineal title (ring belt) you've got to beat the man who is considered the lineal champ...Marg was that man...shane knocked him off...therefore shane is the man or lineal champ.

I agree 100%, considering the current #1 is fighting the former and UNDEFEATED #1 who should be ahead of Mosely anyway. I don't know how they had Mayweather 1st before and now put Pac and Mosely ahead of him

That's just speculation but then again, it all is

Mayweather has been the man at welter, his retirement was a break and everyone knows it He's still Floyd. Shane holds one belt and is certainly not considered the linear champ, noone is at the moment as far as I'm considered.

Margo never beat Mayweather so how did he become "the man" at welter? When he beat the guy that Pac destroyed?

Zab beat spinks for the lineal title....Zab lost to Baldo.....Floyd beat Baldo....Therefore taking the RING or Lineal championship. Floyd retired......Marg was the champion....beat Cotto and the rest is history! We all saw what shane did to marg. By Floyd retiring he gave up his P4P crown and WW titles. He came back and now has got to earn that back the old fashion way.

:huh You know what.....you're right about that. How did marg or Shane get teh lineal title. Who faught for Floyd's vacated WW crown...who ever won that title picked up the lineal title and therefore will be the Ring Champ. Good observation.

Mosley, Cotto & Margarito all beat each other and as close as Mosley-Cotto was, Mosley with a record of 1-1 from the top WWs of the time didn't do enough to be crowned Ring Champ.

Hopefully the winner of Pac-Mayweather will fight the winner of Mosley-Berto and we will have a definitive answer.

So, by beating Cotto, Margo became the man?

But Cotto wasn't truely the man, just a sit-in for Floyd

I don't think his retirement stunt changes the rankings.

Why the **** does ring have Pac ahead of Mosely if Mosely is the man?

I think the real problem here is that the #1 ranked welter never ever fights the #2 ranked welter.

All great questions but the retirment does affect the rankings. You can't stay in the ranks without being an active fighter who acknowledges retiremnt.

If Mosley loses to Berto, then Pac/Money will probably be for the belt.

Mosely has gone 18 months without a fight, so has Hopkins

I guess you're right but we all know he's still 1 or 2
