Why is the WBC allowing Lomachenko to take the belt hostage?!

A little consistency fellas and ladies. Just a year or so ago people were complaining about Canelo doing this to Golovkin, just for good measure I'm gonna do some bumping of threads to jog a few memories. Haney has earned his shot at that title and he needs that fight. If this was Mikey Garcia it would be some shot fired at BN24 but since it's a former soviet favorite for some of you its okay he ducks Haney for absolutely no one. There is no big money fight for him to lie about going for so why accept this from him either?
Its was okay for him to beat up on Rigo but now Haney wants it and you guys make excuses for the fighter for what reason?

First people were saying Lomachenko is ducking Teofimo Lopez. Now that Lomachenko has stated he is going to fight the winner of Richard Commey vs Teofimo Lopez the Lomachenko haters are saying he is ducking Devin Haney... some people just have to hate on someone I guess.

I don't think so. If anything, Loma was actually 'respectfully' stripped.

Here, see who WBC actually think the current champion of their lightweight division...

He was stripped for no reason. He held the belt for 2 months maybe and the the WBC decided to give it to Haney for some reason.
This isn't like the WBC stripping Canelo because he didn't want to fight his mandatory and the give him some TacoClen Franchise belt, or Floyd never having to face a mandatory in the last 6 years of his career. No this is just screwing someone out of a complete unification.

But of course Loma haters will spin it into him being protected somehow instead of totally screwed over.

    Loma was also ducking Rigo.
    Now it´s a cherrypick.

From what I heard, Top Rank was the once who requested Loma be made "franchise champion". Would make things easier in regards to mandatory obligations.
No idea if it´s true tho, but would make sense.

We also have a thread with every poster in it basically saying that Haney vs Fortuna is a step up and a good test. Directly conflicting with the notion that Haney has earned his shot at Loma like this thread is claiming.

That's what I've heard too. Which is why I tried to think and find out what could the possible benefit for Loma to lose his newly crowned title in exchange of this 'franchise' status.

My guess is, probably because Loma wants his next fight to be the winner of Commey-Lopez, which he most likely can get it. I don't think it is Loma's intention to duck Haney, but he probably thinks that IBF title is more important and he chooses not to risk it by taking any fight in-between. And since he can get back his WBC belt anytime he wants if he takes up the 'franchise' status, it'd suit his plan. In other words, Haney can only fight Loma if Loma wants to fight him, but on the other side, Haney must fight Loma if Loma challenges him. If that is really the case, that'd be pretty smart and slick move from Arum.

And no purse bids means that Arum can keep Loma on ESPN with 100% certainty.
The Haney fight will likely happen and will take place on Top Rank´s terms.

    Yep. 100% spot on. ;)

Remember to whom WBC actually created this title at the first place ? That makes all sense.

Well the WBC allowes Wilder too. However unlike Wilder I believe Loma when he said he will fight the best in divison starting with Lopez vs Commey winner and then Haney amd Tank next year.

Just judging by the way he threw the right he needs to tighten up before he bothers with Loma...
he's a good fighter & seems a good kid ,but he's not ready just yet, give it another year ,at only 20 whats the rush...I do agree though that at 20 he is a special talent!

It amazes me that anyone pays any attention to the We Be Crooks belts. They ignore thier own rules any way they fancy and may change them on any particular day at a whim.

This. And you put it a lot nicer than I was going to.

The same idiots you’re talking about were the SAME ones who for years were saying Loma was “ducking” Rigo. Lol

I think we all know why Loma is getting preferential treatment
