Why is the WBC and Jose Sulaiman so adamant against the belts being unified?

Can someone explain to me why this is the case, and when their stance changed on this subject. I mean i remember Lewis holding the WBA and IBF with it a while, then just the IBF and IBO titles with it. So im sure there have been more cases in the not to distant past. **** Jones jr. held all the belts just 8yrs ago. As with anything I'm sure it all comes down to greed and money, but I'd love to here the reason and hear the excuse for them waking up one day and deciding this.

He's a spastic old douche bag is probably the main reason.

I'd say it's just money. Suiliman can make fighters pay sanctioning fees for his tournaments/eliminators/title shots.....strip them or make them drop the belt when they win it.....rinse and repeat.

It's not so different than the WBA creating regular/super/interim/champ in recess/official contender and whatever other designations they have also to generate revenue.

Because he can. The #1 fighter with the #1 promotional team who has the top prospects and just made a killer deal with the positioned to be #1 Boxing network prefers his strap. He holds the cards.

IMHO it is a good thing. It keeps the belts vacated and eliminators being fought that set up big fights for the WBC strap. Until a fighter rises in Rot Stank that takes the shine off of the WBC by holding another strap and being love? JS will be JS.

**** the WBC after this.. unification should be the goal of fighters.. not something to have to relinquish or have the sanctioning body fighting against.

Disgusting behavior, and horrible for the sport.

He's the boss. It's funny how Sulaiman makes so much money from human beings fighting for a green belt he got made for at most a couple hundred dollars. Any real boxer fights for money and fame instead of 'legacy' and adult toys called belts and dubious 'P4P' rankings its how these guys make money off of the boxers selling you this stupid ****.

They take a ****ing percentage of your purse so you can keep their oh so precious hundred dollar belts. With the percentage they take you can make your own belt. ****ing thieves. And these dumbass boxers (the majority) make it their dream to win a belt.

Belts should just be stepping stones to bigger paydays, that's it.

Well, I posted a link up with the exact reasons (as outlined by Jose Suleiman)...

But then one of the admins deleted my thread because it contained a link to another website.

    Just google search: Jose Suleiman

and then hit the news tab.

Embarrassing for the sport. The WBC have somehow managed to come across as even more corrupt than the WBA, quite an achievement. Ideally the origination should be shunned now.

but it's also difficult to hold all the belts, because it's almost impossible to satisfy all the mandatory and still make big fights.

Because he only wants fighters to defend the WBC belt. Every time that belt is defended, the WBC gets a sanctioning fee. What if that fighters holds the WBC and IBF belts and he has to fight the IBF mandatory...then the WBC no longer has priority and the WBC gets a much smaller cut, while the IBF belt get the highest sanctioning fees.

Now imagine a fighter with 3 belts who fights 3 times a year. Each belt gets defended once and each organization gets paid majority sanctioning fees once. The WBC wants to get paid 3 times a year.

It's awful for boxing, but great for the greedy piece of sh*t Sillyman. Fighters should just drop the green belt in the trash.

Couldn't agree more! The goal of any fighter should be to unify all belts within a division - the irony is it actually makes the belts even less valuable by not allowing unifications

They are not against unification fights. But you have to choose what belt to keep

That's the same thing, no one can hold all belts - would be a bit silly for them to actually stop fights between other belt holders, that would really be taking it too far
