Why is the WBC and Jose Sulaiman so adamant against the belts being unified?

Dropping the WBC belt really gave me more respect for Ward. Unfortunately not everyone will follow his example.

Strangely enough, the WBC haven't insisted Danny Garcia give up his WBC or WBA belt since beating Khan in their unification fight. Mayweather also holds the WBC at 147lbs and the WBA (super) at 154lbs.

It’s just an attempt from them to monopolize the championships. If you wanna’ be one of their champs, you better not think about fighting for another belt. Which, of course, is another blow to the sport, because it just creates more barriers when it comes to making the best fight the best.

Easy money, if a fighter is unified the fighter have to give a percentage to the sanctioning body, the more belts the less money the sanctioning body receive, only one belt more money will receive for the percentage. Easy
