Why is there not more pressure on Bivol and Beterbiev to fight?

Bivol team don’t really want Beterbiev they trying to age em out

 

I feel like it’ll happen, especially since Canelo seems a no go now.

 

Probably because no one believes that it will happen, regardless.

 

They dont have big fanbases

 

I suspect Bivol has been avoiding him. He and managers wanted the Canelo money instead also.

It's far less likely Beterbiev is worried about Bivol. Beterbiev is the destroyer here, not Bivol, who isn't a big puncher. Bivol is the one more likely to end up KO'd badly.

Beterbiev wasn't even worried about exchanging with Johnson and Smith, who are both serious LHW hitters.

I think Bivol is in trouble in this matchup. If he pulls it off it will be an amazing win, one of the best in boxing now.

 

They are quite respectful fighters from far away lands. The west will never clamor for that.

 

Beterbiev is the one who really wants to unify, with 3 belts and very solid resume.

Bivol is just one belt guy who never really spoke about challenging Beterbiev.

This Undisputed fight would be a great match up,Beterbiev has been the one looking to unify all the titles and would take the Bivol fight in a heart beat. I believe Bivol would also accept the fight however with Hearn involved he’d rather make money by keep defending the WBA belt whilst ageing Beterbiev out . Hopefully we do get to see this fight .

 

Bivol doesn’t want the fight, but he isn’t being held accountable because of his new surge in popularity post-Canelo.

Unification with Beterbiev would be honorable. But I can’t blame Bivol for wanting the Canelo rematch when there is that much money on the table. I would do the same.

 

Bivol has been a titlist since 2017 (as has Beterbiev) but Bivol has been openly chasing the Canelo fight from 2018 (at the latest) through 2023. If Beterbiev wants to fight again in 2024 then he should go up to cruiser (where he won't be drained at the weight at 39) and fight Kovalev, if Kovalev wants the fight.

 

There isn't enough money available to satisfy the purse demands. The same issue inhibited Crawford & Spence for a long time, but they finally got over the top.

The aggravating factor is that Bivol *does* have a big money fight with Canelo, and in the end that's what he will do. All the stuff you've seen the past few days is just negotiation. Bivol vs Canelo will be next and *then* maybe the Beterbiev fight, but Artur is getting awfully long in the tooth at this point.

 

I've been demanding this fight for ages now.
