Because outside of Stiverne - who isn't that good - he fought the worst collective of cab drivers and bar patrons that a touted fighter has faced on the way up. AND, he did it for FAR longer than is usually the case.

There's something fishy going on when a fighter's record is as padded with such awful "opposition" as Wilder is - and since two of the stiffs he fought had him on the canvas, that something is likely a very fragile mandible!:yep

    Not likely.

I believe, LIKE COTTO, the WBC will be paid by a major promoter to dodge the mandate for another voluntary.

That said, it's likely to be Szpilka in September, and with ANY luck, and business sense, Wilder's manager will seek a unification fight with Pianeta for the winter, in essence forcing Potvetkin to look for a fight to stay busy and increasing his chances of losing his mandate.

Either way, Potvetkin is NOT likely NEXT. And if he doesnt stay busy, the inactivty and another yr older, might just improve Wilder's chances at beating Sasha. :think

I would love to see Wilder vs. Povetkin in Moscow. Deontay would soil his pants with the local Kremlin, KGB and Oligarchs crowd watching him.

Most people are (quite justifiably) appalled and angered with the level of opposition in his first 5 years of pro career.

However, few have spotted that he has become a rather good HW boxer, not in the level of Klitschko of course, but top5 for sure. Careful matchmaking and overhype does not make him a bad fighter.
