Was (is) Mundine good and probably better than Miranda?

    Yes, I think he is.

BUT there are two reasons why noone wants the fight:

    1. We don't need it because we already have seen it. Miranda presents a different style and he excite more people. And many (at least at the time) think he is better than Mundine.
    2. What Palle (and apparently others) seem to not understand is that perceptions rule.

Are you talking about worldwide demand or US demand? I'm not sure whether you're US based but if you are I tend to find a lot of them over there don't know the difference! Miranda may be pushed by a few in the US because he fights over there and has an aggressive style which helps knock over a few nobodies, but in the grand scheme of things he is nothing. Nobody in Europe, down under, Asia or any other part of the world knows or cares about this guy. He is basically a bigger Gatti but without the boxing skills.

Fighting top 5 ranked (by independent publications) super middle for a belt >>>>>> fighting unranked fighter for no belt. I can see that, why can't you?

And stating "I am sure that any poll taken at the time would have shown that more fans wanted to see Kessler-Miranda" is a complete hypothesis which can never be proved one way or there other.

To some extent I agree. Kessler v Mundine as a fight, I have no interest at all. It was a means to an end, and sometimes fighters have to take a fight for what it gives them for the future, rather than the merits of the fight itself.

This is a pretty fair summary all round.

How has this thread gone on so long? Has anyone yet cited any examples of 'hate' for Kessler on this forum ever? As I said earlier, I've never seen any at all.

    Since this is a

I didn't know their was but if so, perhaps it's because he laid an egg with Calzaghe, turned down Edison Miranda and is now fighting a guy that drew with Muhammad Said. He's got to fight somebody.:smoke :smoke
