I don't understand the way he is being hyped up. He looks like a pretty good fighter, but he is getting a lot of exposure. The one thing which seems to crop up a lot is "....Jewish fighter, Dmitriy Salita". Is he getting more recognition than he deserves, solely because of his religion?
I don't see any interest? In fact I have followed boxing for 30 years and while I was waiting for the Calzaghe-RJJ fight this weekend was the first time I ever heard his name. I saw some of the fight and he was utterly unimpressive. I don't think tere is any interest in him whatsoever.
Salita has been getting the hype in boxing circles, I think its down to him being Jewish. He's a decent enough fighter but has showed nothing that special so far IMHO.
