The NFL and NBA have always been there...... the difference is that at this moment, boxing simply isn't popular and gyms aren't that widely available. And having only a few American representatives in the heavyweight division makes it even less appealing for fellow Americans to follow the sport.

I'm not buying this. The NBA and NFL offered huge money in the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's, and boxing quality did not suffer.

Basketball players are horrible fighters, and would not cut it in boxing. Maybe some in football can, but each sport requires a different skill set.

There is no one in the NFL that would be below super middle weight, and no one in the NBA that I can think of under 170 too.

The main reason for the decline in USA boxing is a lack of work ethic in the gym, and international competition.

    That is a simplification.

It is the growth of these sports and their dominant position in American culture/society. It is the role of the college/university system as feeders to the pro ranks (an effective minor league or amateur system). It is the combined massive economic benefit and dependence upon the monetization of college sports as a business endeavor that supports the educational opportunity that is then offered to attract the vast majority of America's best athletic potential.

This has been the cause of the multi-generational shift in which America's youth is pursuing 3 primary sport opportunities (and has resulted in the diminution of boxing (and other secondary and tertiary sports) as a by-product).

Without a proper channel (or effective sponsorship), such as that provided by the other sports, boxing has experienced a material fall in demand/interest and a related reduction in the need (supply) for gyms/coaches/fighters etc.

    Scrot .. you're a little ***** .. which explains your inferiority complex.

You are so homocentrically oriented you can't think.

It is irrelevant what you perceive to be the background (proper or otherwise) of boxers past or present.

The undeniable fact is that the absolute unequivocal majority of America's best athletic potential is passing through its colleges and universities. You don't need to pound your head on the cement with your feeble stupidity.

Great athleticism isn't to be equated with living in a ghetto or permanent suffering. You're a daft ****.

It is the offer of an education and its obvious value that is the basis for the trend.

Your posts are why you are ESB's universal idiot.

You should get a cabin with Farmboxer and send out pipe bombs in the mail.

You're a doofus. You can post all your bull**** but the bottom line is what have you done to make anyone believe your line of idiocy?

I don't know why so many have this obvious inferiority complex. Are you such a ****ing loser? Is your life that lacking?

Whites or europeans, I should have made that clearer.

The whole premise of this thread is you saying that hvyweight boxing used to be so good is because americans, especially black americans were into it, now because they can make more money elsewhere they don't wanna play anymore so the quality has gone downhill.

So it would stand to reason if those same black Americans were to make more money in boxing then the quality of hvyweight boxing would improve. So by your reasoning it's all down to the amount of black heavies, not about the quality of white fighters.

My perception of a pretty blatant race baiting thread is fine, I can see it for what it is.
