I just don't get it... It would be different if AJ and co were all midgets of 6'2" or so. But these guys are literally giants - 6'5" and above. And they move better and faster than any giants before them. So how on earth can this be a "bad" HW division? It is the most exciting in a long time and arguments could be made that no other era in history could stand before these guys.

    Your thoughts??

Imo past Heavyweights fought everyone, this division is spoiled.

It's like pulling teeth getting these guys to fight each other. It has gotten so out of bounds a fighter verbally agreed to 50 Million dollar payday with a sparkle in his eye. To then change his mind decline the 50 million & go in another direction (over the hill contenders)

Ortiz & Joyce vs TBA on the same card. -comes with boxing but the division seems stuck in the mud. Joyce called out Ortiz, will the fight ever come to fruition? Probably not.

Guys like Andy Ruiz/Big Baby Miller strategically angle easiest route to World title fight. Hold out-then finally in a big fight & they disappear for years.

Who is calling it "bad?" Mostly when a weight class is considered "bad" it's because there is genuinely little talent at the top of the class and or no depth so there are little to no compelling matches. The current HW landscape has depth and there are a number of compelling matchups at the top. IMO this is a very good point in HW boxing. There are going to be some very interesting and good matchups in the near future.

The contenders never fight each other. It's all posturing
There could be a ton of fights in 2019 but it will just never come together. A lot of interesting style match ups you could name but you know will never happen

I personally, have no complaints about the heavyweight division at all. I'm not sure why others are doubtful of the current division as you hear different types of complaints. Many of them continue to watch the heavyweight fights. One thing we can all agree on is the stalling of some highly anticipated match ups but I guess thats happening in other lighter weights, however thats one thing that the heavyweight division is bad for.

We just came out of 10 years of boring Klitschko dominance

And now we get GREAT matchups at least 4 times a year

    Lighten up people!!

Lol I totally agree, after the Wlad years of total domination you gotta say this current crop is a big improvement as there’s a few at the top all capable of beating each other, even the second tier are decent imo, guys like Pulev,Povetkin,Parker,Miller,Chisora and Whyte make this one of the best divisions in a long time and when Usyk gets started and Joe Joyce and possibly Dubois it can only get better.
Folk tend to think with rose tinted glasses with the HW thing when in reality there’s always been a big disparity between the best and the rest in the division.

So we ain’t got AJ v Wilder yet but other than that they all fighting each other imo and as is so often the case 50/50 fights nearly always deliver.

Come on you don’t actually believe all that nonsense do you?rule of thumb.......whenever you see potentially massive fights like GGG v Canelo or AJ v Wilder being negotiated in public via Twitter and social media you should immediately know its a psy op from both teams to either drum up interest or intent on marinating it some more. When ever these big fights are made, they made behind closed doors with no talk of of fifty million dollar offers ect.
Both teams imo agreed to leave that fight till this year sometime.
