Agreed. One of the guys he most reminds me of is Holyfield- a jack of all trades that just knows how to win and always comes with massive heart.
Yes sir that tends to happen alot. Same reason why certain people feel Robert Guerrero is a top WW when in reality he never was. Its all because who he lost to.
"If Bradley had power he would have been great". Maybe, but who cares? If Zab Judah had timing he could have been an ATG. But he didn't. Tim Bradley has pathetic power. His power is shockingly poor. Somebody should have fixed that problem.
Yawn. Get this jazz out of here. Nobody except Floyd has outboxed JMM the way BATB did. Dude has 2 losses (should be 3) and they're all to Pac. So what does that tell you? Tim got one of the best resumes in boxing.
Hahaha wow. Tim embarrassed JMM on some 9-3 8-4. I'll know to not take your posts serious going forward.
The judging on that fight was a farce like it was when Canelo fought Cotto. Those fights were a lot closer than people like to admit but the narrative was that we got a young hungry lion who's going to embarrass the old timer. Young guy got credit for punches that didn't land or were blocked, while the old lion got no credit for craft and the moves he made. People saw Bradley stalking Marquez and Marquez moving backwards, but they didn't take into account that Marquez is a counter puncher. JJM vs Bradley R1 Draw. Looked like an even exchange. R2 Bradley. Not a lot between them. Bradley busier + good flurry at the bell. R3 JMM. Not much to separate the two. Lots of dodging, blocking, and countering. R4 Jmm. Landing more and harder punches. R5 Bradley. Slight edge to Bradley. More pressure. R6 Bradley. Slightly busier more aggressive. Still not much landing for either. R7 Bradley. Marquez just didn't do anything. R8 Bradley. Getting cocky. Throwing a little more. Not a lot of damage, but Marquez being sluggish and inactive. R9 JMM. Finally moving forward thworing punches. R10 JMM. Doing a little more. Not much more than Bradley. Could go either way. R11 JMM Letting his hands go. Bradley Coasting. R12 JMM. Bradley on his bicycle. Unfortunately, JMM is one of those fighters that's always getting robbed by the judges like Lara, Herrera, Whitaker, or Sergio Martinez. There's either something about their boxing style that judges don't like or they are always the lesser hyped fighter who's down on the scorecards before they enter the ring. I had Marquez winning the third Pacquiao fight and getting robbed too. The analogy I was drawing was between Rios and Guerrero.
And your point is? The man flat out brings it every fight and manages to win. All while lacking real ko power. Very solid resume! If his resume wasn't as good as it is but he got the same recognition you would definitely call him overrated. In comparison, his resume is far better than 3G's and 3G gets way more credit and recognition than Bradely ever did!
Yep, no sense going down that "what if" road. All fighters are incomplete. If Linares had power and chin he'd be as good as Ray Robinson. But he doesn't. He isn't. And that's the end of story.
The point is, he reached his full potential with or without power and accomplished enough to be considered a future HOFer. He deserves all the respect he gets and more.
He used to be criminally overrated, now he's underrated. Who the hell talks about Bradley in 2016? Most people have Thurman, and Spence running through him.
Another unfortunate thing I've noticed is that once someone faces Floyd or Pac, alot of "fans" only rate that fighter as a proxy of how they feel about Floyd or Pac, and that defines the fighter to them me than the fighter's actual ability and accomplishments. Bradley is one that suffers from that. There were people who were on the bandwagon prior to the Pac trilogy that bailed because it was Pac that beat him- even beating Marquez got sold short.
