danny is probably the 3rd or 4th best trainer in his family, obviously roberto grandpa garcia being the best

ortiz needs all the help he can get and danny sucks!

    ortiz and grandpa?

danny sucks, he should go with joel diaz or ronnie shields, but diaz trains bradley so i doubt he will train ortiz.

Yeah, I've always thought Ortiz needed a different trainer

I really like and rate Ortiz. I think he beats every top 140lber out there. People **** on him after the Maidana fight but that was an unusually tough challenge for a young guy. He was put in with a good opponent with a tough style, too soon.

People can day he has no heart and that's fine. I still think he'll prove his talent. The toughest opponent for him would be Bradley and Maidana but I think he could beat both.

That said, he does make some mistakes. I think he's a guy who really needs lots of good sparring, so he needs a good camp for that, and a good trainer to help turn him into a champion.

Parts of the story are true but Victor has embellished it over time. Plus he leaves out the parts about him being a little ***** growing up. All his school teachers I have talked to say he was uncontrollable and always in trouble. His parents say they could not control him and he left home and they did not abandon him. This version is the most widely excepted here in Garden City. Most people I know who know Victor call Victor a liar. Victor's Dad still lives here and although he will never be elected mayor he is well liked.

The father left but his mother didn't. That is why I said they. However, how many married couples split up and one of them leaves? Did they all abandon the kids and family? No, they split up. Victor felt abandoned but his family has always been there for him. Even the Dad as time went by was there for him. I know people that know the situation very well. They say it happened but not the way Victor portrays it. I have no personal knowledge just going off what people that do have to say.
