Why is Vitali klitschko so classless?

I'm not sure why I went second person there with the 'you.' I think because I wanted the reader to imagine him-/herself in Lewis' shoes, and how that must have felt for Lennox, to have the spotlight suddenly taken away.

It's not a fun feeling. :hat

Does someone want to help Italarican out here with the laundry list of fighters Lewis helped, in various capacities, in his quest to see the Klitschkos beaten?

Hey, it worked with Sanders and Wlad, so you can't say Lennox's efforts were totally in vain.

Want to take a guess why Lennox was/is training with Haye before his fight with Wlad?

I'll put it a different way -- Lennox is like Robert De Niro's character in Cape Fear when it comes to the Klitschkos. Especially as regards Vitali.

The difference between Vitali and Lewis in this case is that Lewis holds a victory -- however tarnished -- over Vitali. So you think he would be able to leave well enough alone. That he cannot should tell you all you need to know about how good he feels about the 'cut lottery' fight.

That is, you only try to seek the downfall of people you feel are actually a threat to you or your legacy (there I am going 'second person' with the 'you' again). If Lennox felt secure in his win over Vitali, I would imagine he would be a lot less concerned with the Klitschkos.

Also, I think Sanders served as Lewis' proxy against Wlad. Because, as most recall, at that point Wlad was considered the better/more dangerous of the two Klits and Lewis wasn't so eager to actually get in the ring with Wlad.

I've never heard this twist to the Lewis-Klitschko relationship, and it makes little sense to me.

Back in the early 00's, Wladimir was going to be the biggest potential money making fight post-Tyson for Lewis (remember that Oceans 11 mock fight); why would he make it his mission to help someone destroy that? I'm not saying Lewis was actively looking to fight Wladimir, but to go out of his way to sabotage something like that is an entirely different story.

I haven't heard Lewis going after the Klitschko's in interviews unless perhaps he was responding directly to a question (I don't recall that specifically either but am sure it's happened). Vitlay, on the other hand, is a whole different story.

Also, Lennox is not a trainer, and prior to his HBO analysis, he had little experience there as well. I fail to see what Lewis would have to offer on those guys around the late 90s, early 00s that actual fighters' trainers wouldn't have.

    It just doesn't make sense.

This thread clearly demonstrates the difference between someone who posts here and is just a hater, versus someone who posts and is a boxing fan.

Understood, understood. It's not something that is widely known outside of boxing circles, or to hardcore fans.

But it's out there, just look it up. I would never just make this up, as people here on the board who know me could tell you.

I'd give you the links myself but I'm too damn lazy today.

I'm not saying you're wrong (though I don't agree), I'm just trying to tell you Lennox's own mindset, and why he can't stand the Klits so much.

Yes, his post makes perfect sense, until you remember that Lewis actually turned VITLAYS face into mush. Or a pizza, seeing as that seems to be the latest Klit-ite buzz-word around here :nut

Lewis didn't dominate VITLAY? Try telling that to the poor **** that had to stitch his face together after the fight

Some of you might want to take up other sports like Ice Skating or Gymnastics or something.

This is Boxing. It is kill or be killed. This is not badminton or cricket etc.

You can get hurt in there.

Vitali is no more classless than Mike Tyson trying to break Botha and Savarese's arm(s), Riddick Bowe sucker punching people at press conferences and pushing a guy out of the ring, Andrew Golota biting someone or throwing intentional low blows, Lennox Lewis holding Glass Jaw Michael Grant's head down so he can knock him out.

I could go on and on. If these things are too "vicious" or "brutal" for you then you might want to start following a different sport like Tennis or something.
