    Great post.

    A very fair assessment.

Ive really not had the energy for this as it has been done to death so I will try and be brief with it because it has become draining.
Yes and he later acknowledged how Jones had come back with some wins.
It was a legacy fight for both as they were from a similar era but not the same division and big money for both
That is a shortened part of an article. also I dont think that was said in 03 but nearer to 1999 or early 2000 when Calzaghe had not long been champion. I will look to find it at some point but just cant will myself to at the moment but that really is a shortened piece to what I have read which went on and didnt have someone write thats honesty after it because it didnt end like that.
The whole article does go on to say he would take the fight if offered but that has been left out.
Calzaghe and Jones was being considered for Calzaghe after the Woodhall fight.
Around 2002 it was looking like they could be facing each other

also Calzaghe was calling Jones out on live TV on the Tyson undercard which was in 01
    Go to 39:40

    In 02 also

It was a poor fight. Calzaghe was having injury problems at that time and not sparring
If you take a shortened article with Calzaghe so literal, do you do the same when reverse applied?

Below is a cut and paste from something an old poster did. I cant say I have seen it myself or looked at the link but this is what was posted by them

It has been done to death.

    It is draining.

Yet you still refuse to admit the truth.

European fighters are all hated on to different degrees. Makes me happy that USA and Mexico are non factors in soccer.

Calzaghe was one of the few fighters during the 90`s that was tactical minded, it`s an overrated decade in boxing and fighters during that era are often rated above Calzaghe, some fans defend Joe against these favourites and that`s when the heat starts, his fight with Jones brings a lot of hate because a lot of fans feel Jones superhuman and that Joe was at a much lower level which is bull.

I wouldn't say it was an overrated decade.

    Why would you?

There were some great fighters in the 90's.

    Go through the divisions.

His fight against Roy in 2008 does bring a lot of hate. And you should know why. But if you need reminding, it's because he repeatedly said that Roy was shot beforehand, before then whining afterwards that he didn't get much credit for the win.

Prime for prime, yes, Roy was on a higher level. And despite Bailey's cringeworthy videos, Joe wanted no part of Roy when he was anywhere near his prime, as he was more than happy defending his lightly regarded WBO belt in the division below.

You want shame? How about losing to the"feminine little girl" like 2 ATGS did. So he was a feminine coward who won every fight he was ever in? Nobody mentions how often Ali slapped/cuffed and struck with his palms. But he reduced his power on purpose to save his hands and guess what? WON EVERY FIGHT HE WAS IN.

The moments when he chose to punch properly he could do some serious damage. Joe overcame his fragile hands the most entertaining way he could. He could have turned into a low volume counterpuncher like Floyd and Roy did when their hands went. Instead rather than change his mentality in the ring, he simply changed the surface he hit with.

His existence is a story of overcoming a normally debilitating condition for a boxer in the most entertaining way possible. The person who should be ashamed is you. The internet tough guy bagging an undefeated 46-0 champion because he adapted to overcome something beyond his control.

Joe Calzaghe is probably the most best/most watchable guy with glass hands ever. He would slap the **** out of anybody on this forum to this day. The only person not deserving respect here is you.

If he couldn't throw a ;egitimate punch he should have retired
