I have heard many fighters recently say that all they have ever wanted to win is a WBC title.

Why is the WBC the most prestigious, when the WBA was formed first. OK, the WBA is a joke, but could someone please answer me this one!

Is it because the WBA is a joke, the IBF gives **** mandatories and the WBO is controlled by Frank Warren?

Thw WBO is the World Title.
The WBC is basically the American title.
    The rest are in-between.

I never knew WBO was ownded by Frank Warren. :admin
The WBC belt is the best looking out of all of them, though.

Yea the WBC looks pretty good but the WBO too.

I think it's because it is the most serious organization, they don't rank dead ppl, don't make an eleminatior beetween the 10th and 15th ranked contender and don't have 2 champs per weightclasses.

I think the WBC belt does look better granted, but does that mean it should rank highest lol

The WBO belt looks ****, the IBO and WBU ones look better!

Suppose thats a good enough reason, nothing like a fight between two corpses!

-Because it has the most loyal members to a corrupt organization in the world today
-Because Jose Sulaiman actually cares about his own people so he strips the Casamayors, gives the titles to the David Diazes to make the Moraleses able to fight for the 4th title. Viva Mexico! (And if you want to sue them you can still get an interim title to shut up like Casamayor)
-Because Jose Sulaiman cares about his family and gives the responsible jobs to it’s members (Maurizio Sulaiman)
-Because they are grateful for the ones who pay them the most. That's why Mayorga (DK) could fight for the LMW title after a KO loss in MW and Oscar challenge him as a MANDATORY after a KO loss in MW and 2 years of layoff
-Because it was the WBC that invented the great "interim" system so more boxers can call themselves world champions today and they are happily paying the fees
-Because they stripped Rocchigiani to give the title to the really great Jones but didn’t forget about the German at all – that’s why they are paying him millions of dollars year after year even on the edge of bankrupt because they care about non-American champions too
-Because it is only in the case of the WBC it is possible to determinate the HW mandatories for FIVE YEARS AHEAD. Isn’t that great?
-Because the WBC likes to give surprises to it’s boxers like they let you fight another mandatory just after you’ve won one
-Because Jose Luis Castillo can get a title eliminator anytime he wants (guess what, he’s in the line for another one)
-Because they have the best judges who can actually see who the REAL winner is despite all the BS the unqualified 'experts' and heartless 'fans' are saying like in the case of the Casamayor-Santa Cruz fight (or was it just a little gift for the Cuban to remain as their beloved - interim – champion)?
-Because WBC claims itself to be the no.1 boxing organization even if the WBA was created earlier

You know the answer here , it doesnt matter what ANY1 says about which one is better , there all bull , if all the alphabet titles are relinquished now at ww , and then some guy goes and wins them all , he's not champ til he beats Mayweather , just follow the lineal belt

All titles will always have intrinsic problems in a sport where contests have to be arranged. Linear champions are often considered the number 1, but who actually considered Lewis the challenger against Briggs?

Its not even up for debate , alphabet titles dont mean anything but crowd-pulling power . Im not saying that bein gthe lineal champ makes you suddenly better than some guy who holds the wbo title , but it makes you the champ though

Did you consider Briggs the champion though? After beating Foreman he could have worked his way through a procession of non-entities and still be the champion today.

I think this debate could run and run and run. The general consensus is that alphabets are a joke, whilst lineage doesn't always involve the best guys fighting each other. For instance, who was the lineal champ at super middle?

Even though Calzaghe has been top dog for as long as I can remember, I cannot remember him beating 'the man'.

That is just a part of boxing happens , im not saying i would have liked it , but he would have been , nothin you could do about it really .

I have a curiosity about that though , did Foreman briefly retire after fighting Schulz or did he simply relinquish his ibf strap ? If he did retire and then return it may have rendered the lineal title vacant and it would have been Lennox that was champ when he fought Briggs as he would have took it from Holyfield.
