It's the WBC guideline.
But he isn’t the mandatory as things stand and isn’t entitled to any split.
Let’s see what they rule.
As things stand it’s a Whyte duck for me.
The WBC guideline of 45% is for the interim champ.
Whyte is the interim champ, that hasn't changed.
Where had this 45% come from? Could have sworn it was bull****.
Or the back garden.
A place you never visit, it's called literature.
Eh day Earn still finding glass in his garden the following summer
Really glad you said that! Set you up for it
The rules state that an interim champion receives the same purse as a challenger. So no, the rules don't state an Interim champ should receive 45%.
Maybe you should visit the literature section more often pal. You always talk utter nonsense.
I think what you refer to ass glass, is just a human chin mate, please see exhibit A, B and C:
Anyone can get cracked, Fury by anorexic men, AJ by fat men, Whyte by Russian KO machines
Whyte by a small old man - Fury gets back up and fights.
Huge difference in heart, desire and will to win when the going gets tough.
1.27 Interim Championship. The WBC may order an interim title bout when a world champion will be temporarily inactive and unable to defend his title for a period to exceed 6 months due to: a) certified medical reasons; b) a legal impediment; or c) a reasonable cause strictly beyond his control. In ordering the interim championship, the WBC will follow any of the steps mandated in Rule 1.26. If the inactivity is estimated to exceed one (1) year, the title shall be declared vacant. Upon the return of the champion, the WBC will order a mandatory bout for the undisputed WBC title with the interim champion. Both boxers are bound to participate in this bout and cannot participate in an intervening contest, except in special circumstances approved by a majority vote of the Board of Governors. If the bout is promoted through purse offer procedures, the purse split will be 55% for the champion and 45% for the interim champion. The WBC may alter this split at its discretion pursuant to the provisions of Rule 2.11(d).
Hahah mate, can you even read? That's if the Champ has become inactive them returns.
Here is the bit you SHOULD have read
In its sole discretion, the WBC shall subsequently determine the timing and terms of any
bout between a Champion and Interim Champion to determine a sole champion in the
division, provided, however, that an Interim Champion shall never be deemed a mandatory
challenger, or entitled to greater share of proceeds of any purse offer beyond that of a
challenger, without a specific prior written order to that effect from the WBC President or
Yeah about heart, desire and will... Fury fought Pianeta, Schwarz, Seferi and Wallin since 2018. Barely Top 60 fighters. In the same period, Whyte fought Povetkin , Chisora, Rivas and Parker. All top 10/15 guys easily.
Discounting Wilder fights of course, I mean every tom dick and harry would fight the champ.
So going back to your original question, where did 45% come from. Yeah it came from the WBC regulations, and interim champ is entitled up to 45% under normal circumstances.
Upto 50% under special circumstances.
Seeing how accomplished Whyte has been in the WBC roster as compared to his peers like Fury who was gifted a title shot being outside of the Roster entirely (unranked), I'd say Whyte is eligible for the 45% FOR SURE.
Oh, and in terms of PPV draw and popularity, yeah same answer... Whyte is fully eligible having sold more tickets and PPV sales than Fury.
