Just answer the question. Who did Wilder ever fight? In his resume, only one "big" name and one "big" fight.
Admittedly I'm not a fan of him but, not letting it influence what I say, there are quite a lot of reasons really. His boxing: There are too many easy criticisms people can jump to, let's be honest the man can't box, technically. His power is destructive and I respect him as one of the current best solely because of that. But nonetheless, the more and more people see him windmilling, the more he will get criticised by the boxing public for it, and that unfortunately does not help his profile. His look: The casuals want to see the monstrous, big muscle bound Anthony Joshua body builder look, and let's be honest, some of them will just say he's the best and be adamant about it just by seeing his walking around shape, even if they don't watch him fight. Sounds ridiculous, but that's how casuals work. Wilder doesn't have that. Personality: He doesn't appeal to the casuals this way either. They much prefer to buy into the AJ humble act than the big boisterous American type. The biggest reason - promotion: If we're honest, Eddie Hearn is the best in the business right now and the way he has pushed AJ is probably better than any fighters profile since Mike Tyson. Eddie Hearn reaches the casuals through his various big deals and relationships with important and widespread media outlets. Deontay unfortunately does not have that either. (A lot of this talk is about casuals I know, but really that's who you need to reach in mass to be the highest paid).
Because he's 32 and fought 40 fights and his best opponent is some chunky 73 year old Cuban with all the movement of an arthritic sloth.
If Washington and Splika can land on Wilder then so can Johsua. I am not saying that AJ defo wins but if you are saying there is no way he can land on Wilder your just plain delusional. Either are just as capable of KO'ing each other.
