I know a lot in this forum love hating on Wilder and continue over rating the british heavyweights but this is laughable. Whyte wouldn't even be in the discussion for title shot if not for his location, he should be fighting Chisora again who he struggled to beat or somebody on that similar level.
Um he buzzed AJ.... You do know that don't you?? 2nd best boxer eva!!!!!!! Plus his chin is just below Wlads given he took that uppercut a little worse than Wlad did..
On the flip side why would you turn down your biggest ever payday, massive exposure leading to a huge unification fight against a guy who is an easy days work for you supposedly?
WBC doing that with Stiverne is dodgy but that's on them, not Wilder. Whyte ducked Wach. Once Ortiz was gone, Stiverne was the mandatory again. So how could he have fought Wilder instead? It wasn't Matchroom's money that made Stiverne step aside. Unless the WBC clear it then without losing his belt Wilder cannot fight Whyte. Who himself was done for drugs anyway, so I assumed you'd find it suspect if the WBC made him mando too...
Wilder ducked Whyte long before signing to fight Ortiz... Whyte offered to step in as a replacement, with Stiverne already paid his step aside fee and Whyte being WBC#3 I doubt they'd have had much of a problem with that. Whyte served his ban 5 years ago... Different from the WBC allowing Stiverne to be mandatory after testing positive before fighting Povetkin... Who they removed from that position for failing a test.
Unless I can see evidence of him or Matchroom going direct to the WBC then it's just free air time for him as far as I'm concerned. He constantly runs his mouth and then ends up fighting Malcolm ****ing Tann Looks like he will fight Breazeale now anyway, which is a decent fight and the right one for where he is because IMO he shouldn't be near a world title shot (neither should Stiverne)
Nichols and Sconiers are going to be the only two left for him to fight after all the VADA dust settles Then Nichols will "Dust" him again
He's doing the same thing to Wilder that Wilder does to everyone else... Social media call outs. He's pretty much the only guy ranked in the top ten across the 4 abcs. Not saying he deserves a shot but did Szpilka, Washington, Arreola, Molina or Duhaupas? The HW division isn't very deep atm and if Wilder can fight these guys why can he not fight Whyte (he did get a firm offer confirmed by Hearn as his biggest to date).
I don't think it's a matter of being scared, rather a question of money... Hearn's offer just wasn't enough for Wilder... I belive it was $4.5 million... Wilder wants at least 10. thats why the fight didnt happen I believe
They didn't, his reign has been trash. But with the Stiverne rematch I'm pointing my blame toward the WBC on this one and not him. They chose their mandatory for whatever weird reason and they'll be stubborn about it.
