    Byrd is the only one.

Peter and Ibragimov? Is that a sick joke or something? When it's all said and done, and in 20 years time, we won't be talking about the "legendary" Wladimir Klitschko, you might see his statue whilst on a tour bus in Ukraine though.....thats all.....

Other than Wlad and Vitali, who was so special in the 2000's? Remember was retired/last fight in 03. The 80's, like the 2000's, had horrible competition.

    All of the above reasons.

And Floyd senior would probably add one more.

I agree but that makes Wlad competition at least at the same level as Holmes competition during 80ties ... which makes Wlad somehow comparable to Holmes himself.

Mix of everything. He gets a little underrated because the Heavyweights are terrible these days but he has his advantages and utilizes them effectively. Every time he fights his opponents almost always say that they're going to get on the inside, get past that long jab, but they never do.

Wasn't Holmes 48-0 before he lost to Spinks? Also, I believe he was champ for 6 or 7 years before losing. Wlads only been champ since beating Bryd in April of 06, so thats only 4 years of him holding the belt. He still has a couple more years of staying undefeated while champ to even enertain the thought of him being compared to Holmes imo.

Wlads era is no worse than when Lewis or even Tyson was ruling their repective eras.

You cant tell me that Michael Grant, Frans Botha, Henry Akinwande, Oliver McCall, where way better than the fighters Wlad has been beating.

Wlad is suffering from the Lennox Lewis syndrome of being a step above the level of competition that is currently out there. And again the competition is not as bad as people make out.

Plus the guy fights regular, and people claim he is boring and only ever have the Ibragimov fight to go back to as note, as though that is how Wlad always fights.

People have selective memories, especially alot of Americans.

Then name one great fighter Wlad beat, or in even a hall of fame bound oppenent. You can't, because there is none. Wlad's best win was over little Chris Bryd, the same Chris Bryd that went life and death with Jamel McCline, and had a draw with a out of his prime Golota back in 03.

Wlad hasn't been consistantly exciting since Steward got ahold of him in 04. Every once in awhile he will put on a enertaining bout. Though the last 5 fights have been anything, but exciting. So much so, HBO doesn't even want anything to do with him. That alone speaks volumes, when Wlad's a two belt champ and has been champ since 06.

He is far better than his competition

Theyre pretty bad and really I think there is so little coverage which makes the fights worse. Because wlad and vitali are fighting the best available but casual fans dont know much about them because non klit heavyweight fights are never broadcasted in the states. So when they fight the likes of arreola, people say who the **** is this fat guy not knowing that he was supposed to be one of the best out there today.

The 80's was terrible outside of Tyson and Holmes. And if Tyson lost to a guy like Buster Douglas, who knows what would have happend if Tyson had to fight Bowe, Ike Ibeabucki, Tua, Mercer, etc.

Anytime in boxing you have a dominant HW champion, everyone counters that the division was weak. They said the same about Dempsey, Joe Louis, Marciano, Tyson ,etc

Definitely a little of all of the above. I wish Arreola had fought Wladimir instead of Vitali. He would have at least had a puncher's chance to be in the fight.

    Its a scrub era, period.

Wlads ok but nothing special. Great heaveyweights don't get decked 11 times by a series of bums. Thats a fact.
