    x2!!

Wlad's an excellent boxer and dominant champion, fighting in an era devoid of real competition!

So far Haye is a paper champ, never beat top 10 contender before
getting his title shot and won by running for 12 rounds against
    the weakest belt holder.

Wlad is the real champion here, with Vitalia being close behind.

Lets Haye beat Ruiz and Valuev again this year then we will know
    where he stands.

Because Wlad is an excellent boxer, athlet and he has one of the best trainers in his corner, Emanuel Steward.

And a great team behind him, inculding David Williams, who works very good for Wlad!

Yes good example, but the man he beat was the same man who ko'd Lewis. Rahman was around the time Lewis was fighting and can be regarded as fighting in Lewis's era. And when he actually fought a fighter who wasnt a club fighter he lost (as champ).

Briggs won a belt in a fight he was losing, and then lost it in his very next fight.

Bruno, Ruddock and Mercer i agree would be top contenders and possible champions in this era.

As for McCall, McCall is a very good fighter, but its not as though he has been fighting top 10 fighters, and again when he did in Gomez he was stood on his head.

A mix of all of that.

Each current opponent has strengths and weaknesses, but not enough strengths to beat a Klitschko. Let's see...

    - ring smarts (ring generalship+experience+multiple gameplans; Lennox was GREAT in this department)
    - power (Tua, Solis, Haye have it)
    - speed (Chambers, Haye; Chagaev lost it after his Valuev fight)
    - defense (Chambers; Kevin Johnson (cough))
    - technical skill (Chambers, Povetkin, Haye)
    - reach / size (Valuev, Dimitrenko; Helenius?)
    - endurance + chin (Arreola impressed me; Wlad's biggest weakness)

Of these abilities, Wlad has most in the "good" or even "great" department (his jab is a "great" mix of defense and offense). His chin may be only average for a HW, but he covers it well.

No other boxer brings more than a few of the tools to the ring. Haye comes closest (ring generalship, power, speed, skill), but lacks size+beard+defense. Chambers brings good speed+skill+defense, but lacks power+size. Arreola lacks skill, and so on.

The blueprint to defeat Wlad is to apply heavy pressure to make him panic. But to do so, you need the tools to bypass his jab and his size advantage. He is very skilled to avoid an inside-fighter. Haye and Arreola might do it, but even the better skilled Haye would probably fail.

Manny turned him into Lennox Lewis .90, He isn't completely Lennox but he is certainly very much like him. If he would just be less mechanical than he would be on par with Lewis.

true, he does fight like lennox, he just isn't as good. what made lennox great is he was great on the outside, he also wasn't bad on the inside aswell, so if an inside fighter tried to get inside, then they might be getting a huge uppercut, while with wladimir, if you get close to him, he clinches. that's a big difference really. theres more reasons aswell why wladimir is just a poorer version of lennox lewis.
