I don't understand this at all. I watched the fight last night, and yeah, it was pretty awful from rounds 1-7, but I don't understand why only one person is getting flak. Let's face it, Ibragimov was getting schooled. From round 7 onwards, without a knockout or multiple knockdowns he couldn't win. So why wasn't Ibragimov the one who should have been going all out? Both men did little, but the difference is, one was winning easily and didn't need to risk it, and the other needed a miracle.

Klitschko was more attacking. He through more punches and pressed the fight constantly. He landed the harder, cleaner shots. He simply did what he had to do.

Ibragimov however, needed to risk it all, but he didn't. Every time he tried to do something, Wlad would land a hard pucnh. therefore, Ibragimov settled for a decision loss.

I don't put the blame entirely on Sultan, though. Wlad could have stopped him and I think he should have tried to do that. However, I don't think Wlad deserves all the blame for fighting a cautious fight either.

Look at their past few fights, it's clear that Klitschko is the more exciting. In this fight he was also more attackin. So why are people having a go at him?

Maybe it's something to do with Wlad's complete lack of balls?
If you are a boxer you risk gettting ko'd, Wlad refuses to risk it anymore so his fights look awful. Everytime Sultan got close Wlad **** his pants, You could actually see the fear on his face it was pathetic .

it's funny how people call a guy who has been knocked out 3x, left for dead, then salvage his career through hardwork and dedication to become the hw world champion, gutless and a coward. Too many keyboard warriors. Yet would they would step in a ring with Wlad

wlad was dominant and lackluster last night. he needed to let his hands go about 4 rounds earlier. he blew an opportunity to make a statement but i suspect he will make adjustments and make it up to boxing fans in his next fight

Explain why this is counted as a negative.

You're correct, I wouldn't get in the ring with Wlad, but I am no bigger than Flloyd. If I was going to fight someone I was much bigger than, much stronger than and more skilled than I would show some balls. Wlad didn't.

Most of these boneheads predicted Klitschko would destroy Ibragmov. When the prediction didn't come true they had to blame Klitschko. No point in blaming themselves for making stupid predictions!

i dont think anyone expected Wlad AND Sultan to be so passive. i have never seen wlad so hesitant for so long. he usually feels out his opponent for 2 or 3 rounds then the jab lands with frequency for 1.5 rounds. Then the bombs follow. However, last night he didnt let his power shots go in the 4 or 5th round.

he tried late but seemed more content to just coast

I also thought he does his usuall feel out for the first couple rounds and then steps it up but he didn't last night, he was lucky Sultan was just as passive because alot of those rounds were close and Sultan could have stole them if he was more active.

It was very obvious throughout the fight, Wlad was afraid to get hit, thats the reason he didnt commit to many right hands, that fight was a disappointment for everyone involved, sad performances by both men.

That's exactly how it felt. It's easy to often excuse Wlad's tendancy towards starting slow because you feel he'll step it up as the rounds go on, as usually happens. Wear his opponent down with the jab then start dropping the hammer.

Instead, he only stepped it up a little bit in the 8th and 9th, and then seemed to go "I'll just coast for the last three rounds" and did so. He never went to a higher gear as he usually does. To think it was perhaps he was still a little spooked-out by facing a quick-handed southpaw is a fairly reasonable option.

I'm actually watching this shitty fight again. Sultan is being alot more aggresive than people are giving him credit for. Wlad, however, is doing nothing but jabbing, stepping backwards, and holding. I have no idea why he's not throwing more rights, or even a double jab.

That'a exacty how it went. Sultan at least made efforts to get in, he just wasn't successful. Wlad could have landed any of his three patented punches almost at any time he wanted. He chose to work with only one.

Hell, even Lennoz was commenting on how Manny would tell him to double his jab. Can't remember if Manny did say anything, as I went fast forward between rounds.
