He looks terrified of being hit. Any fighter who looks terrified of being hit is going to come in for criticism, that's all.
I still think the biggest problem was that it had all been set up for Wlad's grand coronation. All the publicity, all the media interviews, footage of Wlad training like a demon, Steward waxing lyrical about Wlad's one-punch knockout power, first HW unification bout in 8 years and so on. And it ends up as a jabathon. Sultan certainly deserves blame for his one-note gameplan, but no wonder Wlad drew a lot of criticism. As the guy being touted as the real #1 guy, he's held up to the highest standard of anyone.
