I don't think he wants a repeat of what happened with sanders.. so now he is boring and plays it safe.

not losing is more important to him that making an exciting fight.

Boxing doesn't come natural to Wlad, he looks confused at times in there. Like, "how should I attack this opponent that's just standing in front of me". I got some advice, just throw combos, and show some more variety than an ammateur.

people forget that someone like larry holmes for example fought many scot le doux/alfredo evangalistas/david beys etc etc etc where he just went through the motions and only remember the gerry cooney fight and a sprinkling of other competitive fights that beforehand were not meant to be competitive like witherspoon and williams.

also a very big part of it , is the american media`s physche of what a heavyweight boxer should be and do.

they want there heavyweights to be seek and destroy fighters and not stand up boxers and i beleive a large part of the critism of wlad is that he falls outside there model of what a heavyweight should fight like in the ring.

A good thing to do anyway is always take a fighters name out of the equation and use fighter A and fighter B. Can you imagine the hoopla that would exist right now if fighter A was not named Wladimir? You'd have a guy that dominated Chambers every round and scored a brutal ko at the end. The consensus would be Wlad is afraid to sign a fight with fighter A & the lovefest would begin & it doesn't take much for folks to jump on a bandwagon.

It was a real good win for Wlad but he should have ko Chambers alot earlier. There's no reason to win it by decision when you have a fighter that is not a hard puncher and weighs 209 to go to a decision win instead by a knockout. I'm glad Steward finally wake up Wlad. Vitali even told Wlad to ko Chambers. Wlad needs to stop fighting way too safe. Wlad has the power, the skills to win fights by ko in an early fashion if he throws more punches.
