Why is Wladimir Klitschko ducking Povetkin?

    I cant wait to hear the exuses after the fight, just like we heard after Brewster I, and sanders fights. Pathetic. And to think I used to be a huge wladimir klitschko fan until his own fanbase turned me against him. Pathetic. Tony Thompson is a joke of a defense, really. I love how you guys keep underating potvekin. keep it up, keep elevating wlad to that high pedastool and we will have another ross purrity, corrie sanders, lamon brewster fight on our hands. You won't be able to defend wlad then, we will drift away into obscurity as another "never was", while his brother will continue to always be a "what if" and nothing more. its a shame because I really like wlad, i really do. ESB really has turned me against him.


    Once again, people are eluding the fact Potvekin won the IBF MANDATORY final eliminater which means klitschko must fight him, but instead wlad is trying to pull a less risk higher reward type thing by taking on a 37 year old feather fisted fighter instead of his IBF mandatory. reminds me of holmes-page taking on marvis frazier instead.

    With all due respect SuzieQ, it doesn't seem to me like anyone here is overrating Klitschko nor underrating Povetkin. The types of responses that you have gotten from this thread were driven by the fact that you made a false claim. Klitschko is not by any means "ducking" Povetkin. He is sumply defending against a mandatory contender which he did not chose himself, with full intentions of facing Povetkin in his following defense. This has been explained to you on several occasions but for whatever reason, you refuse to acknowledge the truth. I agree that Thompson is not the most desirable opponent for a title defense, but our opinion of him is irrelevant. He is a mandatory, and that's all there is to it.......Period........

    The author of this thread is employing his usual tactics of applying misinformation to suit his agenda. Not that it matters much, but Tony Thompson is actually 36 not 37. I also wouldn't call him feather fisted either. In addition, he is a rather large south paw ( often a problem for Wlad ), and has never been knocked out. He's also won his last 27 strait fights over an 8 year period. I'm not claiming that Thompson is a great fighter or anything, but calling him a bum is a distortion of the truth.

    While I believe that everyone is entitled to an opinion, there must be a distinction made between expressing one's view and flat out lying or twisting facts.

    Well said. If Wlad dropped the WBO belt to fight Povetkin next, I bet someone would start a thread about Wlad is ducking Thompson.

    I think Wlad is waititng for Vitali's fight before he goes ahead and prob drop's his belt's.. Klitscho's wanna make history by being Brother Heavyweight champions at the same time. Wlad @ this point is bigger than the ABC championship's. He could fight Haye anytime he want's (which is the Money fight right now) he's waiting for Vitali as usual.

    But he has to stay active and defend his ABC titles in the meantime hence "Thompson".
    (He has the Ring belt which is the #1 strap now IMO)

    Not "someone". SuzieQ's sniping at Wlad is starting irritate me, and I really don't have that much time for the younger Klitchko.
