Why is Wladimir Klitschko So Overrated?

Haye has shown the ability to evade opponents that have the footspeed of a cow, and slip shots that have a postage stamp on them.

Fair play to him for that.

There is an absolutely massive difference between the likes of Ruiz and Klitschko.

Look at how Chris Byrd fared against Wlad - harder to hit, equal pace and a better chin.... lesser power probably. Twatted around the ring twice and didn't win a round on either occasion.

Wlad would have destroyed shot Barrett, shot Ruiz and shot Harrison in the same or better fashion than Haye did- but he has been busy fighting better opposition (Peter, Chambers, Chagaev). He will add Haye or Adamek to that list soon

Whatever a trainer is yelling at his fighter has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of a fighter. Your entire definition is way off.

 

Excitement is subjective... I, for one, am able to find both styles enjoyable to watch and the marketing of Haye as an "exciting" fighter is soley to attract the casual follower.

 

Not from anybody in the same class as Wlad, or anywhere near.

Klitschko hits like a truck and is very accurate.

Byrd was a very good fighter, a similar size to Haye.... perhaps a little smaller but quicker.

I wouldn't say it's moot at all. Calzaghe and Hatton are bad examples as they fought regularly and produced stellar displays against good opponents in between shall we say average showings.

Haye has done what he has to do so far, but let's not kid ourselves that a thin decision over Valuev, a late stoppage over old Ruiz and a blowout of a journeyman means that he is in any way a favourite to beat an excellent, dominant HW champion.

At the start of 03 Wlad lost to Sanders. His two comeback fights were against 29-2 and 42-4 opponents before a fight with Brewster for the vacant WBO belt. Of course, he lost- then fought Williamson (42-4) and Castillo (18-0-1) before his eliminator with Sam Peter. This brings us up to his rematch with Chris Byrd in 06

I don't think there was a good time to fight Toney during those years, and certainly not after

Against who? Name a single fast fighter haye has faced.

This is mental, I can't believe haye has so succesfully pulled the wool over the eyes of an entire forum of folk who should know better.

I wasn't around here when haye fought Enzo, but I bet plenty of people on here gave Enzo a shot, didn't they?

 

If somebody found that fight enjoying then let them. I didn't personally but there is no law from preventing others from doing so...
