Why isn’t Porter considered p4p number 1 while Canelo is?

    Some people on here have Canelo as their number 1. Why?
    What is the difference between Canelo and Porter? Canelo is more marketable.

    If Porter was marketable his record would be 34-0 now. Looking at it closer, every single “defeat” that Porter suffered could convincigly be argued in his favor.
    Imo he beat both Thurman and Spence and just lost to Brook. Canelo lost to Lara more convincingly than Porter did to Brook, Canelo was beaten far more convincingly by GGG in both fights as well.

    So now lets say Canelo wasn’t marketable... he would have 4 defeats on his record at the least, would he then be considered P4P number 1? Would Porter be number 1 if in his 3 defeats, a different set of judges was hired?

    Lost to GGG twice, arguably Lost to Trout, lost to May, arguably to Jacobs, lost to Lara and beat Kovalev who had like 2 months of prep.

    Only a handful of Mexican chicks have Clenelo as P4P #1.

    Porter has never fought as well as Canelo did v an elite fighter in the form of GGG who is 2x the fighter that Spence is.

    Mark, this has NOTHING to do with me telling you Canelo v Jacobs was closer than you give it credit. There was no "toying" with anyone. What you believe Kov does w/ Jacobs is moot to this.
