goddam, am I the only one who bought that PPV???

Erik looked bloated at 147, his timing and balance was off, he's lost some speed but he looked like if he could make 135 or maybe even 140 and get some fights under his belt he could still make some exciting fights. When he let his hands go in short spurts later in the fight he looked a lot like the old EM.

    Anybody else have an opinion?

Morales is no longer relevant. Manny beat his ass so decisively that he should not come back. I fear for his health

    Let it go, Bernie.

Erik Morales is no longer relevant. Bless him.

I posted a thread earlier saying near enough the same thing (although I havn't seen the bout), didn't get many people discussing...all we will hear for days is Abraham v Dirrell.

Even though it wasn't much of a great opponent, I was impressed even though he looked slow, but he had a lot of weight to lose for this fight. He'll keep a disciplined diet from now on & make 140lb's.

Should look more on balance & faster at that division, he won't beat none of the elites at that weight.

Cause they played the Super 6, Maidana v Cayo, and Morales on the same night. Not good for boxing.

Lets see him cut 140 before we start popping off threads about him.

Probably. If I were you I wouldn't have admitted to that stupidity.

Eriks my favorite fighter but I wasnt going to pay 50 dollars to see him against Alfaro. Hopefully he gets a good win under his belt and then takes on JMM or fights for a LW/JWW title.

the english feed cut out about halfway thru the broadcast, so I couldn't understand anything they were saying. I liked the card tho... $29.95 and we got to see about 24 fights lol... some good little scraps.

I was encouraged with what I saw from EM. His legs weren't shaky and wobbly like Castillo's, maybe he can make some noise. I just hope he doesn't get hurt in the attempt. He sure didn't look like the hawk-faced, lean killer we remember on his ringwalk, I thought he looked nervous as hell and I was afraid of what was going to happen lol

If it's Morales, JMM or MAB, I'm there. No matter what.

You just watched a welterweight version of an old Jones, Jr. Able to make some people believe he can still pull it off against scrap and provide some excitement, but once he fights a top 5 WW, or even a lightweight, his health would be a major concern.

He needs to retire and enjoy everything. Or if he is keen on competing, he should do it against his pal Castillo.

:good There's still a chance he can make some noise...he didn't look THAT bad, considering how overweight he was. He still need to get in shape though...he should really be at 135, MAYBE 140. I'd love to see him vs. JMM if he gets in shape and loses the ring rust.

Erik can still take shots tho, and his defense seemed intact. Alfaro isn't horrible, he was a credible opponent. I actually thought he might be a little TOO tough a guy for the first fight in a comeback attempt.
