Wait, so Crawford is a free agent now? So hes fighting David Avanyesan? Wtf?????? No Ortiz? No Ennis?
Both Super Boots and Ortiz are ranked #1 by the IBF and the WBA respectively both of which Spence holds. Stanionis is the WBA regular champ though But word of the street is Spence is gonna fight either his WBC #1 Thurman or Stan. Keithy is ranked #1 by the WBC despite only having fought once in well over three years, beating Mario Barrios in Feb, and being 1-1 in his last 2 fights
10m for Crawford would’ve made much more sense if they had a worthwhile opponent across him. But Showtime has no money for Crawford apparently, and Ennis who has barely started his career is for some reason already exclusive to a network.
The WBC ranking Keithy #1 after only having fought once in like 40 months or so, against the mighty Mario Barrios, is almost as bad as them having The Dosser still ranked #1 after brutal back-to-back stoppage defeats in his backyard
Pretty jarring comparison too when you look at Bivol right now, he would sacrifice millions of dollars against Canelo to fight Beterbiev. He has openly said that his legacy is more important than the money. I am not criticizing Crawford, you can take easier fights for the same money, it's a smarter decision health wise. However don't complain about legacy etc because there's fighters like Bivol who are driven by legacy more than anything.
Isn't Crawford like 35 years old ? Very average resume for a supposed P4P ranked fighter at that age. I like Crawford's style of fighting but he needs a stand out win because his resume is seriously lacking.
Crawford has one win since 2020.. an old Porter.. who was never anything special... it's nearly 2023... let that sink in.. consider that some people have this guy as the best fighter in boxing lmao
And it's not like there aren't other Top Rank guys who have been matched tough. The missing fights for Loma are guys like Tank who have no interest in difficult opponents and Haney who just became relevant (and that fight is in the works). It's become pretty clear who the problem is here.
