Bam is extremely skilled, but I don't think he's ready for the best version of Inoue. In a few more years that might be the next big superfight though..

I said he would be the bigger man, not that he is the bigger man. At only 17 Bam fought two weight classes higher than Inoue has in his whole career. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Bam rehydrates only a couple lbs shy of what Inoue does in the ring already, or that his walk around weight is higher than Inoue’s. If Bam did a little weightlifting, S&C, and a bit of nutrition to bulk up to 122 like Inoue did to get 122, then I think he would be bigger and heavier than Inoue by a fair amount. I agree though that I don’t think Bam or his team really want the smoke with Monster.

Mismatch. Inoue would make Bam change his name to 8am (the time he wakes up from the KO).

I don't see any good reason why this shouldn't happen this year, especially while we still have Turki in the sport waving his magic wand.

Bam-Rod weighed 130lbs in the ring three years ago for goodness sake and he's obviously going to be coming in heavier than that now. Inoue weighs 135-136 max in ring now and the weight difference between them is probably only a couple of pounds.

Bam-Rod said he wants nothing to do with Inoue for 3-4 years ie. he's waiting for him to get old so he can scavenge the last remaining morsels of flesh of his carcass. That's a female dog move Inoue is about to turn 32 in April and have we not seen Bam-Rod beat up on enough OAPs at the end of very long and hard careers in Wangek, Estrada, Cuadras all of whom were absolutely ancient for fighters in the baby leprechaun divisions?

Bam-Rod's best win over a prime opponent doesn't look near as good now after Sunny got completely outclassed and battered and stopped by an 8-0 pro novice last time out so why not try his hand fighting against a prime elite fighter like Inoue who is barely any bigger than him in the ring instead of OAPs at the end of very long and careers who have been in more wars than an army and have had 90% of the stuffing knocked out of them?

He's following the Clenelo blueprint of fighting opponents on the wrong side of 35 but at least Clenelo actually fought some elite prime young fighters and 35 y/o at 115 is very different to 35 y/o at 154 and above

There's really no reason whatsoever why this fight can't happen sometime this year.

ffs. bam moved up 2 divisions on weeks notice to fight a real champ and clowns question his heart. hes got plenty of fights that will enhance his legacy and bank account on his way to inoue. only a moron would sign him onto a fight with inoue right now. give him 2 years and he will be demanding the fight. bam is the best fighter in any sport born in this millennium. and hes only half baked right now.

The reason Bam vs Inoue isn't clamoured as much is because anyone who actually legitly follows the below 122 divisions as a whole (and not just Bam and Inoue) knows there's a lot more guys in closer division before jumping to Inoue.

He can still fight the winner of Ioka vs Martinez at 115, and if he's going to 118 he's got Nakatani as the big fish, but a fight with a technical type like Nishida could be interesting. I'll also take a banger with Tsutsumi too, and heck, IF Bam is still at 115 next year I can see him getting Kenshiro who's nearing the end of his prime and have mentioned wanting to make legacy fights with unifications or three division winner or a fight with P4P guy aka Bam. He's not worried about losing given he isn't undefeated anyway plus challenging Bam at the end of his career isn't gonna hurt his legacy.

I'd say just a little too early for Bam. Don't want him 'Vargas'd" Tito style.

Bam is a weight bully. Inoue is small at 122 but pushing through the weight divisions. They could fight now, but without his size advantage and against an arguably superior fighter, Bam would get destroyed right now. Once Bam is bigger than Inoue and Inoue has aged, he has a chance, but that is years away.

There's no reason why this can't happen this year. If other P4P ranked fighters can fight opponents who weigh 2-4 divisions more than them Bam-Rod can fight ones who weigh at most one more than him.

He's a very good fighter but waiting for Inoue to get old is a female dog move, especially when all these big names you've fought to secure your high P4P ranking were OAPs at the end of very long and hard careers who'd had 90% of the stuffing knocked out of them.

The only reason why Bam-Rod was fighting at 108-112 is because he turned pro in his teens and was weight bullying leprechaun babies. He jumped up in weight to fight opponents his size at worst. Fighting opponents your size is what you're supposed to do you don't deserve a Medal of honor for doing so. What next? Award male boxers the Medal of Honor for fighting fellow males?

He weighed 126.4lbs in the ring for his 4th fight at 17 years old FFS

He weighed 130 in the ring three years ago at 115. Inoue will weigh a couple of pounds more than him max. Dare to be great and make the fight this year instead of pulling a female dog move and trying to get Inoue's name on your CV when he's an OAP and well past his best

Bam-Rod might be young but he is already top 5 P4P so if you're good enough, you're old enough

Or just be honest and say that you don't think the fight will ever happen because Inoue will be an OAP by the time I'm ready to fight an elite fighter who is still in their prime and weighs a few pounds more than me

Are you referring to the fight with Mosquiera, where he's listed as weighing at 130lbs according to Boxrec? That's the fight everyone cites, but he's announced at 108lbs officially and while he certainly looks larger than his opponent (who was also listed as weighing in two divisions above the limit) he doesn't look any larger than he did when he was weighing in at 115.

Here's the fight, with the official weight announcements:

Best in Boxing: Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez vs Jorge Mosqueira Fight

Anyway, I want to see him face Ioka-Martinez II and Junto at bantamweight before facing Inoue. Still a lot of guys he can face before then.

Huh. Good to know. Bam still does seem like a big super-flyweight to me, and I don't fancy his chances against Pumita Martinez or Junto personally, let alone Inoue. I remain unconvinced by Bam tbh and don't see what everyone else seems to see in him.

Because he hasn't even hit his prime yet. Moving him up too quickly could derail his career. He seems to have a TON of potential, so I'd like to see him clean out and unite 115 and 118 first. Then he'd be ready.

I'm Texan. Absolutely love that my state may have a future ATG on our hands and I want to see him given the time to do things right. He's only 24. I kind of like what his team has had him doing, and the little step-ups by cleaning out former greats like Gallo. (for anyone who thinks fighting an old great doesn't teach a young lion something, read what the guys who fought an old Larry Holmes said about fighting him) I've have him fight 3x-4x a year, unify and clean out 115, then 118.
