Why isn't GGG on ppv? Thought he was on the up and up in the PPV ranks?

Wasn't Pay vs Pac billed as the Fight of the Century, and it was a boring fight, riddled with accusations, injuries, copouts and more BS than a manure farm...!!!

Boxing isn't exactly filled with a lot of PPV draws, even among the more exciting fighters. Gatti headlined one PPV, same with Corrales, and that was because it was a rematch to one of the greatest fights ever.

The biggest PPV draws in Mayweather and Pacquiao got a big boost in exposure in their fights with De La Hoya. Mayweather is a great self-promoter and Pacquiao is a fan-friendly fighter who also got lots of exposure in facing Mexican fighters. The Mexican and Puerto Rican markets are huge target groups among boxing due to so many being big fans of boxing, and some of the other fighters who sell PPVs are Mexican or Puerto Rican.

Outside of that, it's rare. Roy Jones did awful PPV numbers until he beat John Ruiz. B-Hop put up good numbers in PPV when he was the smaller of the box office draws. Otherwise, he did a couple of decent PPV sales, nothing overly impressive. Same with Mosley.

Boxing is only a niche sport in America, it's going to be rare when fighters are PPV draws. Canelo-GGG will do solid numbers, but that's because of Alvarez's fanbase and people knowing he is in for a very tough test.
