Why isn't Hopkins fighting Cloud?

BHop clearly said in his last interview on the radio that he will not fight Cloud. Why? Hopkins is no fool. He knows Cloud is the best at LHW. Cloud is a throwback to Ezzard Charles. He has handspeed and would be too difficult to dodge.

 

Cloud will have a mandatory challenger shortly.

with that said, why not the same for Bute....,go up a few pounds and get another belt rather than feed on mud fish for a 2 year period of wasted time

He said in the 'On the Ropes Boxing Radio' interview that the phone has been ringing to fight Cloud but he does not want to fight him, not because he doesn't think he can beat Cloud but he wants the title that Pascal has as he thinks he should have been given it already. He wants to correct injustice.

It's quite a lenghty interview. As you can see, it's split into 3 parts.

 

I agree with Beatle, you watched the man go toe to toe with Glen Johnson I don't think his toughness can be questioned, he hits like a truck, has really good handspeed, and I don't think he'll be beat anytime soon. I don't claim he can't be beat, but someone will have to show me they can beat him, because while not the most polished he is the toughest of the bunch. Hopkins doesn't want ANY of Cloud, Pascal damn sure doesn't want Cloud, Dawson might give him some trouble but eventually Cloud walks him down, Bute would be someone I could see coming up and giving him some trouble, but still losing. I don't see who you would think would beat him?

If Pascal can drop Hopkins twice, Cloud would hurt him badly, Cloud isn't going to get bullied and pushed around by Hopkins and BHop knows that. Cloud isn't going to get outworked by Hopkins like Pascal did, he proved against Johnson that he can throw a lot of punches all fight long. Cloud is horrible for Hopkins...in my opinion.

 

Really...so can you give your list of who you rate above him? How much boxing do you watch...boxrec is moving kinda slow so you may want to try a different outlet, but to each their own. I'll wait on your reply.

 

Cloud sucks...fight would be terrible, Cloud winging wide looping shots, Hopkins crouching, running in head first throwing punches before a clinch.
