Floyd got paid 8 million to fight the LINEAR CHAMPION. Your boy Margo can't even beat sloppy Wiliams.
:rofl Nice write up :-( :verysad :yikes How about Willaims was willing to post pone to accomodate Cintron and he flat out refused DUE TO INJURY!:huh Yet here he is vs Margarito AGAIN? :tong :tong :tong :tong Jesse Feliciano, a 140 lb fighter coming to to 147 beat him pillar to post much of the fight:yep A gassed Cintron landed a DESPERATE, but accurate combination and Feliciano AINT Margarito, tough, BUT NOT EVEN CLOSE TO AS TOUGH as Margarito.:nono Yes, you must credit cintron for accepting the fight! I'm actually wondering how they convinced him? This will be a MOTIVATED MARGARITO who will not stop, because he KNOWS/BELIEVES he doesnt have TOO:good
Dude - The post I responded too questioning Cintrons heart. I'm not claiming he's the man in the division - I'm pointing out that he badly broke his hand and toughed out the win - It doesn't matter if he was fighting Ricardo Lopez - A broken hand is a broken hand and he toughed it out - If you're saying thats the display of a guy with no heart - Then you can post every emoticon on the board underneath my post - It doesn't make it an inaccurate statement. Heartless fighters find a way out of there. Margarito made himself Cintron's daddy - Broke him down, made him cry - Cintron would be crucified by you blokes if he took a Williams fight before defeating Margarito first or you lot would all be questioning why he's avaoiding Margarito. Thirdly - I never said Cintron would win the fight, own the division and kick PBF's, Margo and Williams ass in the same night - Give the guy credit for showing the balls to get in there again. If I had to bet the farm on it - I would pick margo again. But for a bunch of guys for the most part do all their sparring on a keyboard in a message board to call this guy heartless is not only inaccurate but compleatly stupid. Gonzo - Big deal - Floyd could have fought Margarito and then won the lineal title from anyone he liked - If you call yourself "Money" Mayweather, if your manager goes around saying "if it don't make dollars, it don't make sense" - 8 million before you even get into the PPV money not only lacks dollars and sense - It lacks balls. Again - I would probably have picked Mayweather over Margarito - But that doesn't change the fact he avoided him.
During while Margo was training for Gomez. He opted to continue through with the Gomez fight and not go after Floyd. Although both Arum and Margo had Floyd as top priority but let him just pass it up for gomez
Uh.....Floyd faced and beat the linear champion and then went on to fight Oscar and make 30 mil. 30+8 is alot bigger than 8+8. ad like eze said, Floyd offered to fight Margo and Margo turned him down.
Gonz - 8+8+30 is even bigger still isn't it? Exe - I never heard about that offer...Interesting. I can only imagine if he was midway through training for a fighter like Gomez he may have wanted to have a more intense camp to take on mr P4P, or maybe after the Santos loss he wanted to build up Margo's confidence to a peak before signing to fight Floiyd? But interesting none the less. I would have thought that would have been a bigger story in the boxing media given all the flack Floyd took for avoiding Margarito for the first offer...
It's not like Margo would of only had little time to prepare for Floyd. It would of been like a fresh camp for Floyd.
Fair enough:good You're first post just sounded much more apologetic towards Cintron. I cant feel that AT ALL! Like I said injury not with standing, they could have post poned, and that's the bigger fight. I QUESTION KERMITS HEART RIGHT THERE!!! SOMetimes Heartless fighters find their way out AHEAD of time. :rofl :yep I cant imagine the pep talk they gave him for this I mean with the publicized ish between Cintron and his former trainers and Kermit blaming them for setting up margarito too soon?:-( You could see the desperation in kermit vs feliciano, it was evidnet against Marg the first time. And MARGARITO DAMN SURE CANT AFFORD TO LOSE THIS FIGHT:yikes He wont, he doesnt have too!! Margarito can and WILL get inside. AM has the obvious size advantage and higher output, which will break down kermit. Unless? They switch to MMA rules right before the start of the fight
No - He could have beaten Marg - Then Baldy and still fought De La Hoya. Oscar would have fought Floyd regardless of the Baldomir fight. I'm saying he could have fought all three - But he didn't seem to want Margo. Eze - Where did you hear that Margo turned him down? I'm still confused about the chronology of events. Becasue the Gomez fight was Feb 06 and I thought the 8 mil offer came up AFTER that, which was April of 06. So that would mean what - Floyd offered to fight him, then Margo turned it down for a couple of months, and then Floyd was offered what HAD to be more money. Still doesn't make dollars or sense.
the "offer" from pbf came 2 or 3 weeks before the fight. which in itself is b.s. arum would have been sued by the venue, sponsors and gomez. arum in a press conference stated his intentions of having margarito and pbf fight for margarito's ww title, pbf's response was to sign a check for 750,000 to buy out of his top rank contract. and as far as pbf making 8 million to fight baldomir, it is not as if they were bidding against each other. pbf had no fight scheduled when the offer was made. and arum made it clear that there were no options. which pbf never denied. after margarito signed to fight clottey, then pbf first attempted to make a fight with cory spinks, and eventualy signed with dan goosen, and the baldomir fight was made. with options meaning goosen got a piece of the dlh pie. therefore, margarito 8+20 is definitely more than baldomir 8 +20-goosen's share.
No worries there - I know where I'm coming from, I guess I expect that to come through in my posts...atsch me. What I think is fascinating about this match up is that Margo HAS to look good and Cintron HAS to try and prove the first fight was a very, very bad night. What that equals is a ******* of a fight. THAT is what I'm looking forward too and I think Marg's size and pressure will be the true test of Cintron's heart or not. Don't worry lads - Should Cintron break down and start bawling in the ring after 2 rounds - I'll be the first to eat a juicy plate of crow - But I think win loose or draw, Cintron should show a bit more in this fight...
