He failed one drug test and missed another. My understanding is that should get him suspended. When it happened to Povetkin, he was basically banned from wbc. Instead, the only news out there is that he hired a high profile lawyer to enforce his mandatory and appears able to continue to hold the division hostage. Povetkin would generate much more revenue than Stiverne, so even though their treatment of Stiverne screams corruption, it doesn't really make sense, because why not let Povetkin slide too? Does King just have dirt on WBC Sulieman? Or is this just all a smoke screen to allow Wilder another weak defense? But from all accounts, they can't get ANYONE to buy it, so even they don't seem to want the match. The whole thing just makes no sense.
yeah idk why hes not in trouble for failing the test for povetkin fight . totally got swept under the rug. the fight was going to continue . povetkin vs stivern that is . even tho berman failed the test. then povetkin fails and the fight is called off. dont like it . does not make sense. seems like there changing the rules as they go . now i hear hes not showing up for tests so i dont like it
Stiverne failed the test for a (weak) banned stimulant that was in a pre workout, if any of you ever done a pre workout drink you most likely have took this stimulant. Stiverne's test was out of competition (weeks before) while Povetkin failed to 2 fight night (or fight time) tests for (weak) PED's. I'm not a fan of either and I hope Stiverne doesn't get another Wilder fight without fighting someone ranked but it's pretty clear why they suspended Povetkin.
This. Stiverne also came clean, which resulted in him just receiving a fine. Povetkin denied taking anything and was caught and still denied taking anything. This made it harder to just give Povetkin a fine, since the guy didn't come clean and had recently had a prior test issue. That said Stiverne should still have to fight someone for that title shot, since Stiverne has been inactive for almost two years and will be 40 next year.
I guess the message they're trying to send is that you can do PEDs if you're not very good but if you're already beastly it's a no no.
And you can take peds if you are their fighter. Just look at Wilders HGH gut. And check his Weight gains thru his whole pathetic career. Why does the WBC even protect him!? Nobody knows him and by the few who does - Nobody likes him... Wilder: High risk NO reward... WHY!?
Stiverne is easily the P4P #1 biggest troll in boxing these days. Also, I think it's disgraceful Large Dan didn't mention Stivernes failed tests in his last article.
