Why isn't The Froch vs Bute Fight on HBO or Showtime?

they may have asked for too much.

this is a big fight, i don't think both network would refuse to show this fight.

Because the people who run HBO and Showtime are prejudice against Eastern Europeans.

The Klitschkos, Bute, Pirog, Kotelnyk, Golovkin, Adamek, etc. all got screwed over by HBO and Showtime.

why would they pick up a fight that would just promote Bute vs Ward if Bute wins?

 

I think a few factors: Showtime wanted Bute/Ward, or at least Bute vs "another American" - think they would have accepted Dirrell. . . I guess they looked at it like Froch vs. Bute wasn't really relevant, since Ward won the S6, beating Froch, and Bute is pretty much the consensus number 2 SMW. . .


And I think there are some dynamics with Bute and a contract with Showtime, maybe?


Finally, since the fight is in England, HBO probably didn't think it would be worth dropping the money to show a fight at like 5 in the afternoon, and/or a replay. . . And since neither boxer is USA, or Mexico based, they didn't want to pay the fee to show it. . .

 

HBO and Showtime are ruining boxing.

 

I agree my good man. . . Just when I thought Showtime was stepping up, and using a new model, they pull the "we want an American opponent" BS. . .

HBO for some reason feels like they have to "make us like" American boxers. . . "house fighters", if you will. . Just show hte best fights. . We don't want boxers force fed to us. . If it's a good fight, show it. . Fans will take to whoever performs. . .

 

Yeah, I agree. . . I really want to reward Epix with a monthly subscription for this. . But then again, it's just so tempting to just create another free trial :think

The Froch fight was his first non-dirty fight. Beating Kessler with your head doesn't count in my book.

He's mainly responsible for ruining an hour of our lives when he fought Allen Green. Fight was so horrible I wanted to jump out of a window. Sad thing is I made my friend watch it with me. He jumped out of the window.

He is scheduled to fight the best LHW in the world. Yea I know at SMW. But still

I think Chad Dawson poses many more problems, is much more proven, more well known etc.

So I wouldn't say a DUCK is taking place by Ward wanting to fight Dawson over Bute.

I would be astonished if Ward-Bute never happens.
