Why isn't the heavyweight championship of the world shown on HBO or Showtime?

America loves boxers that can go to war at any time. Doesn't matter where you're from. A top American hvw champion usually can fight both ways-boxing or brawling. The K brothers learned their lesson trying to box AND brawl! They just box.

Larry Holmes was a great champion. Became beloved after his career was over. Holmes was looked at as boring his whole career here in America. Oh, he's black just in case you mother****ers forgot. America felt the same way about Lennox until he came to America and beat our contenders and champions.

you are so ****ing clueless it's shocking.

Holmes was hated, one of the most hated champs ever despite being one of the best, 90 percent of people watching Cooney vs Holmes were cheering for the great white hype over the proven technical master.

White fighters will always get more love than any others if they're charismatic and exciting. People are always yearning and searching for the next great white fighter and whenever one that's decent comes along they get overhyped a la Pavlik. Klits had their chance to be loved and blew it with the Ibragimov debacle, then got a 2nd chance with Haye and blew it again. If it was Wlad vs Peter 1 or Wlad vs Brewster 2 instead of Wlad vs Iggy and Wlad vs Haye that got all the coverage it'd be different but Wlad blew it on the biggest stage twice and you can't blame HBO for not wanting a 3rd time now.

As a Klitschko fan I would like to say that Vladimir23 is on my ignore list.

  8. Yeah it is all about money and excitement. HBO/Showtime love Arreola,Adamek and HBO is sucking Seth Mitchell's dick so...

Wlad is boring and it's hard to watch his **** sometimes but I still love and respect the HW championship and I will always watch. I think UFC is the most boring thing ever. Hugging and rolling? Come on! You want to see a boring clinch fest, watch UFC.

If they fought in America they would be, honestly. Vitali had quite the run at the staples center before his retirement. Also there was some good buzz when he fought Arreola here. I was living in LA at the time/

Now that Wlad more or less has all the belts, If he fights Arreola in America like planned I think it will get him a lot of good press here.

Blame Ross Greenburg. Greenburg was pushing the idea that HBO spend more money on advertising and promotion targeted at the African-American community. Greenburg was hell-bent on pushing fights involving african-americans without any regards to the quality. He pissed off a lot of people and that damage is not easy to repair.

What an insult to American boxing fans, for one thing the Klits are not normally seen as individuals but as one entity 'the brothers' and being that Wlad is the dominant brother he's the one that will be judged the most and without doubt he's one of the most boring Heavyweight champions ever, his jab jab grab style is horrible to watch and no neutral wants to see that **** when he's fighting old shot blown up bums.

Prime Tyson is generally regarded to have fought in a poor era and if he was as boring as Wlad but still dominating do you think he'd have anywhere near the number of people taking and interest in him as there were? No he got a crazy following because he breathed life into the division while the Klits sucked life right out of it. Had nothing to do with Tyson being black and everything to do with the skills he unleashed in the ring.

Also remember Gerry Coony was almost on America hero level status just before his fight with Larry Holmes (a lot had to do with the fact he was white) so these insinuations that the Klits would be loved by Americans if they were black and American themselves are absurd.
