Bottom line Margarito is scared ... he doesn't want another legit loss on his record ... and he's avoiding the 2 losses that he's had over the last 8 yrs ... they put an emphasis on how he's went 20 something and 2 in the latter part of his career but he hasn't avenged any of those losses.

The crowds ooh and aww over misses ... and they cheer over near misses ... the commentators are bias and/or like to create drama for rating purposes.

yeah, he's got a good record, but he hasn't tried to avenge any of his losses. sad thing is that he has a good chance against every opponent he's loss to. unlike margarito, mosley asked for immediate rematches everytime he came up short

Margarito will never be an ATG fight just because he never avenged any of his losses ... and I think that him and clottey was a draw.

I had that fight 7-5 for AM. AM barely did enough to win that fight. But if he didnt mess his hand up, Clottey would've won like 11-1 if not blow out

What people tend to forget about that Clottey Margarito fight, sure Clottey bruised his knuckle in the fight, but Margarito also stated after the fight he had a messed up wrist and a sprained ankle.

and Fitzgerald, the majority of the people here see the Williams Margarito as a very close fight, not that crazy wide score you came up with, again like I said, nobody takes you seriously here, your a Floyd Mayweather Ball juicer to the fullest.

But one thing both you & I can agree on, when injured his hand, that sure did change the whole fight, & a rematch would definetely be one well worth the money

Y'all need to seriously look back at Round 10 one more time... Seriously.

I think this round is the one that causes people to score it differently... That round was a close one if you don't pay attention to the crown noise who cheers everything Margarito does.

    1-6, 12, and possibly 10.

That makes it 7-5 or 8-4.

Also notice one subtle but very important thing that makes Margo uncomfortable with Paul and his size. Paul uses his long arms to simply tie up Margo, and when he's had enough inside he does something Cotto can't possibly do... He easily shoves him back about 2 to 3 feet, without much effort. He doesn't have to use his legs to create space the way smaller fighters do. He is big and strong enough to use his arms.

By the way, this clip also includes Round 11. If any one of you could PLEASE tell me the minute/second count where Paul was about to go down? Don't take anyone's word for it, just because it sounds good. Look for yourself and tell me where he is wobbly. Every time Margo throws a successful combo, he pushes him off and throws a few jabs out for good measure keeps it movin'. People repeat this claim as if it can't be disputed. Look for yourself.

Sure it did, but that is where you find out if Clottey has what it takes to be a good champion, if the man simply stops fighting becuase of a bruised knuckle obviously he doesnt have it in him to dig down deep when the fight gets tuff, Hell as much as I talk **** about Floyd he has fought through fights with injurys that I will give him.

Margarito stunned Paul three times in that round but wasnt close to knocking him down though I do agree Paul was in some deep water there

    You stupid-ass:patsch

"Deep waters" is only a term referring to the fact that it was the first time Paul had even seen the 11th Round in a fight... If you keep listening, instead bustin' a nut at the idea of Margarito finally landing punches, he explains this.

Do you really wanna talk about what the commentators were saying?

Did he stop fighting or even almost stop fighting? Did he agree to quit when the doc asked him if he wanted to stop? Or did he go the full 12 and take his loss like a man? Hell, not even Cotto or Cintron went the 12 with this dude.

I hear what your saying or trying to, but again like I said, there were two injurys that Tony had during that fight as well and he still kept throwing shots, Clottey stopped punching the last third of the fight, yes he made it 12 but he only tried to survive he didnt try to win after his hand got hurt.

    Man...

Are we the only guys out there who realize Clottey was no picnic for Margo? Even with a "hurt" hand in the rounds he was losing, he hit him with some **** that Margo wasn't too comfortable with.

Clottey is probably the most underappreciated WW, because no one gives him credit for anything. He put Zab out (That was no headbutt, he split his **** with an uppercut) quicker than Cotto, and was never hurt by him. He stood toe to toe with Margo without ever flinching from Margo's punches much better than Cotto or Cintron, and even Williams.

He needs a new promoter, because Arum will not promote him the way should be as long as Cotto and Margarito are there.
