Why isn't there a Margarito v Williams II on the horizon?

The answer to the OP's question is Dan Goosen.

PW should never have left 147. Their whole house of cards will come tumbling down if they actually do get in the ring with Winky.

Just how it was supposed to when he stepped in the ring with Verno Phillips, right?

No. I called that a pick-em fight. Verno's decent, but was never elite. And was old. And he was still able to bust up PW's face pretty good. I counted a few cuts on there. Verno was a legitimate alphabet titilst that they caught at the end of his career. He gave him a good fight for 3 or 4 rds but just doesn't have anything left.

Winky is an elite fighter, former #2 p4p and was only knocked out of that spot by virtue of losing a competitive decision to BHOP at a catchweight of 170. And he has plenty left. Its not like he's been burning himself out in the ring lately. If Goosen is stupid enough to put PW in the ring with Winky at 160, I will tell you right now, it will be an embarrassing schooling with Williams hardly landing a punch and most likely getting stopped on cuts over his left eye around the 9th or 10th.

Winky has been gone too long for me to pick a winner. Look at what happened to DLH after he fought PBF, we didnt see him for a year and a half and he looked bad.

Did you watch the whole fight or did you forget the headbutt?

DLH fought Forbes over the summer. And he was going down in weight, a weight in which he hasn't fought in years. Just because Winky fought one fight at 170 does not mean he's coming down in weight. That's pretty weak argument and comparison.

The headbutt caused a cut, but not 3 or 4 cuts. How do you account for the other cuts on his face? Were they all caused by headbutts?

Man, Forbes does not count. Forbes was a live sparring match on tv. DO NOT TALK TO ME ABOUT FORBES!

Former IBF 130lb champ and 150lb contender runner-up Steve Forbes? By that criteria, you couldn't count any of Paul Williams opponents, except possibly Margarito.

The only reason I count Verno is because Verno has fought at 154 for most of his career and he has 1 notable win.

Forbes is only 5'7" and has 0 notable wins. At 140 & up, Forbes is only a good defensive fighter, and thats all Oscar was looking for was a solid defensive fighter to use his jab against. Once again, DO NOT TALK TO ME ABOUT OSCAR VS FORBES, that was a live spaaring match, nothing more

Forbes isn't elite, but he's no bum above 140. Many people, including myself, think he beat D-Hop. And Forbes beat K-9. And K-9 beat Ouma. And Ouma beat Verno twice. That's ******ed logic but really, if PW fought Forbes, he'd arguably be the 2nd or 3rd best fighter he's ever fought.

Okay K-9, WOOOOOOW, one average fighter. But dont give him credit for other guys he didnt beat. And like I said, Verno is almost nothing to brag about on Williams record.

Exactly. There is really nothing to brag about in PW's record because despite narrowly out-pointing and holding on to a slim decision over Margarito, the one exceptional win on his record, he can't take credit for beating the guys that Margarito has beaten.

If the fight with Winky does indeed happen, Winky will easily be the best fighter he's ever stepped into the ring with and think it'll be an embarrassing schooling with Wink winning by TKO in 9 or 10. In fact, I think Winky looks at Williams as a warm-up fight for a potential go at Pavlik or Abraham.

So far, the only guy 2 names I give PW credit for are AM & Carlos. I still say PW should fight Carlos 1 more time. But Verno was 39yrs old, and dont even get me started on Kolle who is rated like number 100 on boxrec.
If Winky can go back to 2006, he will definetely embarrass PW. But if Winky has drown older overnite, he will lose due to lack of activity.
