Why isn't there a Margarito v Williams II on the horizon?

Williams doesn't need Margo anymore. Williams already beat Margo. Margo is the one who needs to avenge that loss. Margo has had plenty of opportunities to rematch Williams but his team has chose otherwise. Right now Williams has a fight lined up with Wright and Pavlik says he wants the winner. So Williams has 3 or 4 different divsions in which he can make a fight. He doesn't need to chase a guy he already beat anymore.

Who cares about that? Williams went after a unification bout. Anyway, if Margo and his fans want to use that as an excuse for Margo never trying to avenge that loss, that's on them. Again, Williams s 1-0 against Margo. He doesn't need to beat him again and there's other big fights out there for him.

look i think this fight needs to be made
my point is that both camps have claims to being avoided in the rematch
margarito was pushed to the side immediately after the fight and williams has been pushed aside more recently
the main thing is both men were looking for some really big paydays as in floyd oscar or cotto
if you blame one fighter you must blame them both
but i still look at the fact margarito took the first fight against all managements wishes and we all know how that turned out he lost the belt and a showdown with cotto (at the time)
and instead of offering the man who handed him a winning lotto ticket a return match he turns the other cheek
    what goes around comes around

Why should Williams want a rematch with Margo right after he beat him?

Margo didn't petition for a rematch, he petitioned the decision of the fight.

Williams wants to fight Margo because Margo beat Cotto the recognized #1 fighter in the WW division.

What's wrong with that? Let me guess, you want Williams to earn his shot.

So who does Williams fight without taking a step back in his career?

That would require to fight someone in the top 5.. and oh look at who's in the top 5 and who's promoted by Arum..

Keep holding onto that if you want. If Margo really wanted that fight, he could have had it by now. Anyway, Williams has moved on. Margo can keep fighting Cotto for the rest of his career if wants to.

Once again, Williams doesn't need to fight Margo. He already beat Margo. Williams has other options now and won't be chasing around anymore. Margo spent about a month trying to get a rematch. Williams has been willing to give him that rematch for the last year or so.

You should have been asking this question after Williams vs Margarito I. Although Margarito didn't get the nod in that fight, many writers and fans preferred Margarito's harder punches in lieu of Williams' pitty-patter punches. Anyhow, Margarito was clamoring for a rematch after that close loss, and Williams and his team ignored his calls. Instead, Williams and team chose Quintana and we all know what happened then. Luckily for Williams, Quintana was MAN enough to give him the rematch. Now that Margarito is on top, Williams wants a rematch? Guess payback is a *****, huh? Too bad he is on the other side of the spectrum now. I guess now he knows how Margarito felt when Margarito didn't get the rematch.
