Why isn't Williams/Martinez feting more hype.

Ofcourse, you're right. The promoter foots the bill, my bad for saying HBO won't pay for their 24/7, but instead pay Andre Berto.

They put out over $2m for Berto-Quintana licensing fee. :-(

 

I guess cause Martinez and Williams dont have the out of the ring stuff going on that attracts the media. Neither guy has been caught loading gloves, neither is in congress, neither gets in trouble with the law or talks loads and loads of smack. Sergio Martinez and Paul Williams are class men and class fighters they do little talking, they train like animals and come fight night let fist do the talking.

I think i heard HBO is doing a show on them on Weds before the fight. Maybe its one of those old school 30 min specials like before the 24/7 series.

 

Shame on them!!! Its this damn reality television thing going on now. If you aint controversial then you aint gonna make it.

 

HBO doesn't spend money like that on unknowns. Although, from what I read, the promoters foot a large part of the production costs.

You want to complain about a lack of hype, write a letter to the promoters, that's THEIR job remember.

 

I think its to keep the audience focused on the Pacquiao Margarito fight.

After the fight, we can expect the focus to change to Williams vs. Martinez
