Are you aware that Frazier was mostly blind in one eye after the Ali fight and he also had a bum shoulder?

  2. u gotta be HIGH! ****in pass me the blunt homie! Ali SCHOOLED frazier in 74 . Quarry was past it ! Ellis was also basically SHOT BY THE TIME HE FOUGHT FRAZIER THE SECOND TIME .

MAYBE SINCE FOREMAN WAS PAST IT IN 76 HAS TO DO WITH HIS PERFORMANCE WITH FRAZIER, AND FRAZIER ACTUALLY FOUGHT A BETTER FIGHT!

To me it is when a fighter has seen his better days and they are in the rear view mirror. Reflexes are slowed considerably, it is difficult to stay in shape and have a good training camp, and the ability to take a punch is slowed considerably. Your body is physically weathered from past beatings and can include detached retina's, partial blindness, bummed joints (shoulders, knees, elbows), broken hands, etc.

I understand that it is your opinion that Frazier was the same in 73 as he was from 65-71 and that is all I needed to know to understand who exactly I am debating with and that is useful to me in knowing how much energy to put into the debate, as a lot of people aren't worth the time.

  4. Yo, Joe got a left.
    Lewis got a right.
    But Joe actually fights!
    Yea, Lewis got the height
    So what?
    KA-PAT
    Down Goes Lewis!
    Down Goes Lewis!
    damn, he closed the show.
    No wonder he's a pro.

I do not need to look at a poll on the internet to tell me something different from what my eyes see. I have seen every Frazier fight and I believe he was far past his best.

Perhaps you did not see my post where I said the following:
"Perhaps saying he was shot is a bit much, but I can see no way anybody could claim he wasn't at least past it."

If you think Frazier was still in his prime in 73 when he was looking out of shape, blind with a bad shoulder and at the tail end of his career, where he would not have another meaningful victory or show any signs of his former greatness, then no you are not worth the time in debating Joe Frazier because we are two different pages, and no online internet poll on a forum is going to change my mind.

I am not 12, guess again.

    Good thinking.

Anybody who thinks Frazier '73 = Frazier of '67-'71 is simply not worth the time and effort.

Mostly agree, except for the KO part.

I think it probably goes to the cards, for a wide UD.

The thing is none of the fighters you mentioned could bring the heat like `Smokin` Joe ... They didn`t have the will to win or heart of a Joe Frazier. Frazier, wouldn`t fold up his tent and go home at the firts sign of trouble. Istead, he`d dig in, breath down on the opponets chest and dish out a consistent body attack. Which was designed to wear the guy down, and then out. I think you need to watch Superfight 1...

Impossible. 205 pound Frazier against Lewis? Lewis would stop him in the mid rounds.

Who did this then , the referee?

Lewis sparks him ,either with the right cross, or an uppercut as he comes in.
Ali is on record as saying Frazier was easy to catch with the jab.
